You can import devices from a Microsoft Excel sheet.

To import data:

  1. Select Operations > Configuration > General > Import Data.
  2. On the IMPORT DATA page, under the GENERAL tab, select the Tenant and Device Type to import data and upload the excel sheet with data in the Source field.
  3. Click SUBMIT. A table listing uploaded excel sheet is displayed. Select the excel sheet to import the devices.
  4. Click NEXT.

  5. Under the MAPPING tab, the details from the excel sheet are displayed. A table listing mapped data from the excel sheet in the Source field and the attributes in the Destination field is displayed. Select the required options if not already selected. For information about the fields under the MAPPING tab, see Field Description. Click NEXT.

  6. A table listing all the mapped values is displayed under PREVIEW tab. For information about the fields under the PREVIEW tab, see Field Description.

  7. Click SUBMIT. The data are imported.

    Field Description

    The following table describes the fields on the IMPORT DATA page:

    Field

    Description

    General Tab

    Tenant

    Select the Tenant to which you want to add the devices.

    Category

    Select the device Category from the list.

    Device Type

    Select the Type of device from the list

    Source

    Click the Upload icon to upload the Asset Bulk Allocation Template sheet. Click SUBMIT. A table listing uploaded sheet is displayed. Select the sheet to upload devices.

    Mapping Tab

    This tab displays the list of fields with its mapping result. If the Destination and Source are same, it indicates that the field is mapped. If the field is not mapped correctly, you will see <ignore> value in the Source field. Select the appropriate value in the Source field.

    Preview Tab

    Displays all the mapped values. The fields which are mandatory and need data are highlighted in yellow color. The mismatch data type is displayed in pink color. The fields displayed on this table depends on the fields mapped under the Mapping tab.

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the IMPORT DATA page.
