Discovery Job - Enable & Disable

The Summit Discovery Enable & Disable option is used to activate or deactivate a discovery-related job. The tool assists the Analyst or Administrator in pausing the Discovery scan so that they can control, monitor Discovery activity,and handle the threats related to potential security domains. It thus assists in creating threat-free system for all Discovery tasks.

How is Summit implementing it?

In the Discovery Enable & Disable feature, Analyst can add the following functionality:

  • Enable the inactive job and disable the active job with enable & disable option.
  • Filter the active and inactive jobs to view respective Discovery jobs.

  • View the list of active and inactive Discovery jobs.

 Discovery job - Enable & Disable UI capabilities

This section discusses the UI capabilities of Discovery job - Enable & Disable feature. They are:

Enabling the inactive Discovery job

To enable the inactive Discovery job, perform the following steps:

  1. Select AdminAdvanced>Discovery & Monitoring Discovery. The LIST page is displayed.

  2. On the LIST page, a list of Records is displayed.

  3. Click View Inactive to view the list of Inactive jobs.

  4. Click the specific Job Name on the Discovery page.

  5. Check the Active control box to enable the Discovery.

  6. Click SUBMIT to get the enable the Inactive jobs.

  7. Click SHOW LIST on the ACTIONS panel.  The list displays all the configured active discovery jobs for a particular Tenant.

Disabling the active Discovery job

To disable the active Discovery job, perform the following steps:

  1.   Select AdminAdvanced>Discovery & Monitoring Discovery. The JOB DETAILS page is displayed.

  2. On the JOB DETAILS page, a list of Records is displayed.

  3. Click the specific Job Name on the Discovery page.

  4. Uncheck the Active control box to disable the Discovery of Active jobs.

  5. Click SUBMIT to disable the Active jobs.
