You can configure vendor specific MIB OIDs. Management Information Base (MIB) is a virtual database used for managing the entities while monitoring LAN/WAN network. It is associated with the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Object Identifiers (OIDs) refer to the nodes in the MIB hierarchy.

To configure vendor MIBs:

  1. Select Admin > Advanced > Discovery & Monitoring > Vendor MIBs.
  2. On the VENDOR MIB OIDS SETTINGS page, specify the required details. For more information about the fields on the VENDOR MIB OIDS SETTINGS page, see, Field Description.
  3. Click Submit.

The following table describes the fields on the VENDOR MIB OIDS SETTINGS page.

Fields

Description

Vendor

Lists the configured vendor names. Select a vendor name from the Vendor list.

IOS

Lists all the Vendor device’s IOS. Select the Vendor device’s IOS from the list.

Monitor Type

Lists the supported monitor types. Select the Monitor Type from the list.

MIB Type

Lists the MIB types as:

  • Formula
  • Static

Select any one option from the list box.

If you select Formula option, you must type in the values in any of the two fields Used MIB OID, Free MIB OID, and Total MIB OID.

 If you select Static option, you must type in the value for Used MIB OID.

Used MIBOID

Type in OID for Used MIB.

Note: It is mandatory to type in Used MIB OID, for Static MIB Type.

Free MIBOID

Type in OID for Free MIB.

Total MIBOID

Type in OID for total MIB.

MIB Used

Displays the MIB Used values:
Discovery: Select the option, if MIBs are used in discovery process to get the parameter values.
Monitoring: Select the option, if MIBs are used in monitoring process.
 

Device Type

Lists the device types. Select the device type from the list.

Sort Order

Type in the sequence number to indicate the position of the Vendor MIB OID in the list

Active

Indicates the status set for a Vendor MIB OID.

  •  If selected, the vendor MIB OID is active.
  •  If cleared, the vendor MIB OID is deactive.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the VENDOR MIB OIDS SETTINGS page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the configured vendor MIBs.

  • To edit a vendor MIB, click ID hyperlink. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • To display the inactive Vendor MIB configurations, click the Include Inactive check box.

    When the Vendor MIB configurations are displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure a new Vendor MIB configuration.
