You can configure Alerts and log Incidents for Network Device, Network Links, Network Interfaces, Printer, Server and URL based on the Monitoring Parameters data. On the ALERT AND LOG INCIDENT, you can configure the Alerts and Incidents, and map the Incident Templates and Action Templates.

To configure Alerts and log Incidents:

  1. Select Operations > Configuration > General > Alert and Log Incident.
  2. On the ALERT AND LOG INCIDENT page, click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel.
  3. Click the Filters icon. On the BASIC tab of FILTERS pop-up page, select the Tenant and Device Type. Based on the selected Device Type, another section is displayed under the BASIC tab. Specify the required details and click SUBMIT. The selected Entity Types for the selected Customer and Location and the Monitoring Parameters for the selected Entity Type are displayed.
  4. Fill in the required details. For more information about the fields on the ALERT AND LOG INCIDENT page, see Field Description.
  5. Click SUBMIT. The Alerts and Log Incidents are configured.

    Field Description

    The following section describes the fields on the ALERT AND LOG INCIDENT page:

    Description

    DETAILS

    Entities

    Displays the available and selected entities for the selected Customer and Location. The available entities are displayed in the Entities. Select the entity that you want to map to the configured templates and click  icon.  To remove an entity, select the required entity and click  icon.

    Monitoring Parameters

    Displays the Monitoring Parameters corresponding to the selected Entity Type. Select the Monitoring Parameter and click  icon. To deselect a Monitoring Parameter, click  icon.

    Note: This field displays the Monitoring Parameters corresponding to the Entity Type displayed in the above field.

    Action Template

    Lists the configured Action Template for the selected Tenant. Select an Action Template from the list. For information about Action Templates, see Configuring Action Templates.

    Incident Template

    Lists the configured Incident Templates for the selected Tenant. Select an Incident Template from the list. For information about Incident Templates, see Configuring Incident Templates.

    SNMP Trap RuleLists the configured Event Processing SNMP Trap Rules for the selected Tenant. Select the Event Processing Rule from the list. For more information about Event Processing Rules, see Configuring Event Processing.

ACTIONS

The following table describes the fields on the ALERT AND LOG INCIDENT page.

FILTERS

Click the FILTERS icon to specify the Tenant and Device Type. Based on the selected device type, various filter options are displayed. The following FILTERS pop-up page is displayed if the Device Type is selected as Network Device. Select the required filter options as shown in the below screens and click SUBMIT.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the Alert and Log Incident configurations for the selected Tenant.

  • To modify an Alert and Log Incident configuration, click the configured Entity Name. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • Click the Delete icon to delete the Alert and Log Incident configuration.

    When the Alert and Log Incident configurations are displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure Alerts and log Incidents.
