On the APPLICATION LOG TEMPLATE page, you can configure the Application Logs that you want to monitor and alert the user. You can configure the log message that you want to monitor in a specific folder. The configured Application Log Template is mapped to a Server on the ADD SERVER page.

To configure Application Log Template:

  1. Select Operations > Configuration > Servers > Application Log Template. The APPLICATION LOG TEMPLATE page is displayed.
  2. On the APPLICATION LOG TEMPLATE page, click ADD NEW on the Actions panel to configure a new Application Log Template.
  3. On the APPLICATION LOG TEMPLATE page, specify the required details. For more information about the fields on the APPLICATION LOG TEMPLATE page, see Field Description.
  4. Specify the required details and click SUBMIT.

    Field Description

    The following table describes the fields on the APPLICATION LOG TEMPLATE page:

    Description

    DETAILS

    Tenant

    Lists the configured Tenants. Select a Tenant from the list.

    Template Name

    Specify the name for the Application Log Template.

    App Type

    Specify the following details for the Application Log Template.

    • App1-5: Select the check box corresponding to the application type details which you want to add for monitoring.
    • App Name: Specify the application name to add for monitoring.
    • App Path: Specify the path to the application log file.
    • Log Message: Specify the log message you want to monitor. If not specified, a new entry in the log creates an Alert/Incident per polling.

    Note: You can configure only five applications for a template.

    Active

    Indicates the status of the App Log Template.

    • If selected, the App Log Template is active and is displayed in the Application Log Template list.
    • If not selected, the App Log Template becomes inactive.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the APPLICATION LOG TEMPLATE page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the configured Application Log Templates for the selected Tenant.

  • To modify an Application Log Template, click the Template Name. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • To display the inactive Application Log Templates, click the Include Inactive check box.

When the Application Log Template list is displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure a new Application Log Template.
