You can import configurations from the default configuration templates provided in the application and create user specific configuration templates as per the requirement. You can also import default configuration templates available for a specific Asset Category or Service Catalog to create your own templates so that you do not have to use Form Builder to create templates manually.

To Import the Configurations by Template:

  1. Select Admin > Basic > Infrastructure > Export/Import > Import Configurations by Template. The IMPORT CONFIGURATIONS BY TEMPLATE page is displayed.

  2. Select the template in the Vertical drop-down list, the Template drop-down list, the Module , and then click SEARCH. The configurations based on the selection are displayed.

  3. Specify the criteria in the following section to view a particular set of Asset Category or Service Catalog templates, and then click SEARCH. For more information about specifying the search criteria, see Asset Category and Service Catalog.

    Field Description

    The following table describes the fields on the Import Configuration page, when Asset Management is selected in the Module drop-down list.

    ASSET CATEGORY

    Asset Type

    Select the Asset Type from the drop-down list.

    Asset Tracking Type

    Select the Asset Tracking Type from the drop-down list.


    Click any catalog to preview the configuration template.

    Field Description

    The following table describes the fields on the Import Configuration page, when Service Catalog is selected in the Module drop-down list.

    SERVICE CATALOG

    Category

    Select the Category from the drop-down list.


    Click any catalog to preview the configuration template.

  4. If required, clear the configurations that you want to exclude from your template, and then click SAVE to save the template. If you want to save and apply the template to a specific Tenant, click APPLY.
    • If you click SAVE, the SAVE TEMPLATE AS pop-up page is displayed. Specify the Template Name and click SUBMIT

    • If you click APPLY, the SAVE TEMPLATE AS pop-up page is displayed. Specify the Template Name, select the Tenant, and then click SUBMIT.

  5. The configured template is displayed in the Template drop-down list.

ACTIONS

This section explains the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the IMPORT CONFIGURATION page.

  • ADD TENANT: Click ADD TENANT to create a new Tenant and configure the modules in it. For more information about adding a Tenant, see Configuring Tenant
  • CONFIGURE ANALYST: Click CONFIGURE ANALYST to configure a new Analyst. For more information about configuring an Analyst, see Configuring Analysts.
  • CONFIGURE WORKGROUP: Click CONFIGURE WORKGROUP to configure a new Workgroup. For more information about configuring a Workgroup, see Configuring Workgroups.
  • CONFIGURE LOG INCIDENT PAGE: Click CONFIGURE LOG INCIDENT PAGE to configure the fields on the LOG INCIDENT PAGE CONFIGURATION page. For more information about configuring the fields on the LOG INCIDENT PAGE CONFIGURATION page, see Configuring Log Incident Page in Service Management.
