You can add a new Network Link or modify an existing Network Link with the details, such as Customer, Link Name, Link Capacity, Circuit Id details, and so on. You can also modify the Link details.

  1. Select Operations > User > Views > Common Device View. The COMMON DEVICE VIEW page is displayed.
  2. On the COMMON DEVICE VIEW page, click ADD NEW LINK on the ACTIONS panel. The ADD/MODIFY LINK page is displayed.
  3. Fill in the required details. For more information about fields on the ADD/MODIFY LINK page, see Field Description.

  4. Click SUBMIT. A new Link is added.

The following table describes the fields on the ADD/MODIFY LINK page:

DETAILS
Tenant

Displays the Tenant name.

Configuration Item ID

Displays the associated CI identification number for the Link.


Note:
 If a CI ID is not displayed, you need to create a new CI ID for the Link that you are adding in the CMDB module.
Location 

Lists the configured Locations. Select the Location of the Link.

Customer

Lists the configured Customer names. Select a Customer name for the Link.

Link NameType in the name for the Link.
Link Capacity (in Kbps) 

Displays the capacity of the Link.

Source Device IP

Displays the Source Device IP.

Destination Device IP

Displays the Destination Device IP.

Source Interface

Displays the Interface details of the Source.

Destination Interface

Displays the Interface details of the Destination.

Source Description

Displays the Source description.

Destination Description

Displays the Destination description.

Source Interface IP

Displays the Interface IP of the source.

Destination Interface IP

Displays the Interface IP of the destination.

Source Ifindex

Displays the Ifindex of the Source.

Destination Ifindex

Displays the Ifindex of the Destination.

Source Port Speed (in Kbps)

Displays the Port Speed of the Source.

Destination Port Speed

Displays the Port Speed of the Destination.

SNMP StringType in the SNMP string that is provided by the network operator.
BGP Peer

Displays the BGP Peer.

Remote Ping

Displays the Remote Ping IP Address.

Connector ThicknessSelect the thickness of the connector.
E-Mail To

Type in the e-mail ids of the recipients to whom the alert/notification e-mails about the Link status need to be sent in “To” list.

Alert Mail: The alert e-mail is sent whenever the Link is Down or whenever the Device crosses the set Threshold.

Notification Mail: The notification e-mail is sent whenever the Link status changes to Up from Down and also when the Link utilization is below the specified Threshold.

E-Mail CC

Type in the e-mail ids of the recipients to whom the alert/notification e-mails about the Link status should be sent in the “Cc” list.

Ping TimeoutType in the Ping Timeout for the Link. In the specified time, the Link checks the destination IP address and records the result.
Ping RetryType in the Ping Retry number. The Ping Retry number indicates the number of times the Link would try to communicate in case of failed ping attempts.
Service EntitlementDisplays the Service Entitlement.
CriticalityLists the configured Criticality values. Select the Criticality as LowMedium, or High.
Reference Id

Specify the unique reference identification number for the Link.

SOPLists the configured SOP templates. Select a SOP template from the list.
View NameType in the name for the new Link View.
BackUp Link

Select the Link from the list for the Backup.

DescriptionSpecify the description of the Link.
Active

Indicates that the Link is enabled/disabled for a View.

  • If selected, the Link is enabled to display in a View.
  • If not selected, the Link is deactivated and is not displayed in a View.
CIRCUIT ID DETAILS
Circuit IdType in the name for the Circuit Id.
ISP NameDisplays the list of Internet Service Provider names.
Commissioned DateSelect the commissioned date.
Decommissioned DateSelect the decommissioned date.
PO / Work Order NumberType in the Purchase Order or Work Order number.
PO DateSelect the Purchase Order date.
Link CostSpecify the cost for the Link.
Link TypeSelect the type of the Link (MPLS, NLD, ILL, or BB).
Managed By

Select the company or infrastructure, which manages the Network Links.

Local Contact DetailsType in the details of the local contact.
