Hardware Variance

Hardware Variance is the variance observed in the Hardware properties of the latest Asset Discovery Data to the Hardware properties specified in the Asset Management Data. Using the Hardware Variance, the Asset Managers can verify the latest Asset Discovery Data against the Asset Management Data and update the Asset Management Data or identify unauthorized Hardware upgrades or additions. The Asset Discovery Data is the latest discovered data of an Asset.

Example: If a laptop's processor is upgraded from i5 to i7 and the upgrade is not updated in the Asset Management Data, a Hardware Variance in the processor is identified in the latest Asset Discovery. Asset Managers can update the Hardware Variance in the Asset Management Data and in the next Asset Discovery, the Hardware Variance is not displayed.

• Quick identification of any unauthorized hardware device

• Update Asset Management Data accurately and avoid any discrepancy

• Take appropriate actions: Update the Asset Management Data or remove the hardware
