The following sections, provide module-wise crisp summary of new features and improvements introduced in the Elbrus SP2 Release. 

Service Management

The following section provides a sneak-peak of the functionalities added for Service Management:

Configure and capture the latest communication messages from Incident and SR and display them under the COMMHISTORY Keyword in the respective notification emails.



User Persona: Admin

This enhanced feature allows the admin to configure the count of the latest communication messages related to an Incident or a Service Request to display on the notification mail. This is captured under the Keyword *COMMHISTORY* in the notification mail.

  • A quick glance at communication history helps to analyze the Incident or Request for better decision-making.

Configure notification mail template with approval buttons post-incident Resolution.




User Persona: Admin / Analyst

This feature allows the admin/analyst to see the approver buttons such as Approve and Reopen on the Incident notification email post its resolution and action on them(click).

Note:

This supports single and multi-level approval levels for an Incident post resolution.

Delegate Function Enhancement for Service Requests. 


User Persona: Admin / Analyst

This feature allows the admin/analyst to see the approver details when the approve function has been delegated to another user. It can be accessed under ACTIONS > CATALOG DETAIL as a note.

Pagination in the Work Order List page & Text search

Pagination feature helps to divide and display large sets of information or data in smaller, more manageable sections.


Text search allows users to search through large volumes of text-based data to find specific information.

JWT token based Authentication in Standard & Dynamic API


User Persona: Admin

Get the details of Standard and Dynamic API using the token generated through GenerateTokenAPI. The generated token can be carried forward to all other APIs.

Summit - WhatsApp Integration

Catalog Privilege Extension

User Persona: Analyst

Analyst has the capability to log a service request (SR) on behalf of users who does not have access to the same catalogs that the Analyst has access to.

Restrict CC users from the Address Book specific to the customer

User Persona: Admin

A new checkbox Restrict Address Book and CC users based on the Logged in User’s Customer is added under Admin > Application Settings.

It allows to limit the displayed list of customers to those associated with the currently logged-in user's account.

Enhanced data security with restricted displayed list of customers

A new API to get the details of the mobile app has been added. It retrieves all the information related to mobile app such as current version of the app, app start date etc.

API to get SSO details of the mPin authentication for mPIN login

User Persona: Admin

A new API to get the SSO details of the mPin authentication for mobile login has been added. It retrieves information related to the login and authentication used to login to the mobile app.

Send E-mail Action using Template

User Persona: Analyst

An option Enable sending email in Analyst’s name is added at Tenant level to include the Analyst’s name in the email body.

The Send Email option is added under Template Name to add the templates to be displayed using Send Email action.

Remote Desktop Enhancement – WebEx, TeamViewer

User Persona: Analyst / Admin

The Remote Desktop Sharing is available with new connectors such as WebEx and TeamViewer. RDP Type configurations are available at Tenant level as well.

Default checkbox added while adding field mapping data

In External Web Service Mapping Configuration Page, while adding the Source Column Name and Target Column Name, there is a new Default Checkbox added which when checked marks the value entered in the Source/Target column as a Default value.

Confidential Key Value Protection Changes in External Web service Configuration

Admin/Analyst

While mapping with a third-party application, to gain access we need to enter the credentials such as an API Key which is confidential information. To protect such confidential information, we have implemented Confidential Key Value Protection.

New Column named Collection addition under View/Edit Field Mapping

There is a new column named Collection, where three new options have been introduced namely First, Last and All in the source field to selectively map the elements from Source Field to Target Field.

Disable Incident Creation checkbox in Notification Parser

User Persona: 

Admin

Incident creation will be disabled if this checkbox is enabled. Once this option is enabled, it disables Incident creation for all parsers, however, update and approve actions will happen if the configuration is enabled for both.

Service Management

The text editor is enhanced to Tiny MCE rich text editor. The enhancement to the editor is applied to the IM, SR, Problem and Change management

This enhanced editor allows to add rich text with bold and italic content. It allows to add weblinks and images and custom styling.

Encrypting the URL in Service request

 User Persona: End User / Analyst

To ensure data protection and safety of the users logging service requests, the URL while create a SR, viewing SR details and view cart items has been encrypted to hide the logged in username.

Tenant Based Self Service portal

The tenant based self-service portal has been enhanced with a new improvement that enables end users to search incidents, service requests, and knowledge records based on the tenant selected.

Alert Message in Common Master Configuration.

An Alert Message is introduced when an Admin tries to deactivate a Common Master value.

  • Alert message enables Admin to take better decision when deactivating a Common Master Value. 

Improvement in Restricting Multiple Analysts accessing the same Incident or Service Request.

User Persona: Analyst

The concurrent access check is an existing functionality in Application Settings page for Incident and Service Request Module. 

If the checkbox Disable Concurrent Update, is enabled, then Multiple Analysts cannot select same Incident or Service Request for editing only View access is given.

Prerequisites:

  • SignalR must be enabled and Redis connection strings must be there on web.config file.
  • Also, in web.config file ensure to add the following keys:

    <add key="Min:UserNotificationCachingTime" value="10" />

  • Multiple Analysts or Users cannot edit the same Incident or Service Request.

  • Appropriate Messages displayed if another Analyst or User is accessing the Incident or Service Request.


Modifications in Azure Active Directory User Image Imports.


User Persona:
Admin

If a User is updating the Profile Image in Azure Active Directory (AD), with AD import the Profile Image is fetched and stored on the local and the same is updated on the SummitAI Application.  
 
Prerequisites:

  • Ensure that AD Import Job, AD Import Users is running on the CUSTOM SCHEDULER page.

  • In servermoniter.exe ensure to add the following key  

    Config Key
    add key="ADImport:Azurethumbnailphoto" value="True" />  


  • User must have updated his profile image in Azure Active Directory.

Same User Profile image is updated on SummitAI Application with this User profile Image import enhancement.

User Imports from Active Directory based on Configuration Key value.


User Persona:

In this modification to Azure Import a Configuration key is added based on which the specific Users are imported from Azure Active Directory to SummitAI application. 
 
Example: If the value of the Configuration Key is “N” then only Users whose name starts with N are imported to the SummitAI application.

Prerequisite 

Add the following Configuration Key in servermonitor.exe

Notes

  • By default, the value of the above Configuration Key is EMPTY. 
  • In the above letter N is added as an example.

  • User Import is made easy as only desired Users with specific starting letters can be imported. 

User Domain based configuration

User Domain is added as Configuration Type for OAUTH Configuration. To know more about User Domain based configuration, refer to SSO Configuration: User Domain-Based Login.

Send mail Using Microsoft GraphAPI

Admin 

Send Mail Using Microsoft GraphAPI is added as an API type in the SMTP configuration screen page in the application. To know more about Microsoft GraphAPI, refer to Send Mail Using OAuth 2.0.
  • Faster in comparison to SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) for communication and data exchange.

Round-Robin Assignment

Round-Robin assignment is a systematic approach to allocating tasks or workload among team members. In this method, Incidents or Service Requests are assigned in a circular fashion, starting from the first team member, and proceeding through the sequence until each member has received a task. Select mailbox using Sending an email

In the Send Email functionality, analysts are provisioned to select an email account configured in the mail server of Summit, enabling the platform to utilize their accounts for sending emails on their behalf.

Prompt for Usage of Summit Mobile App

To enhance the seamless experience of the Summit Mobile App and avoid relying on external links for accessing details such as Incident Management (IM), Service Request (SR), Problem Report (PR), etc., from the notification received through email or SMS, a new user prompt has been introduced which provides:

  • Users view in-app notifications instead of relying on external links.

  • Protect from security lapses from usage of non-existent links.

Notes

  • This notification is displayed when the Summit Mobile App has not been set as the default application for the mobile app user.

  • The prompt does not displayed when the Summit Mobile App is set as the default.

In Summit Mobile App, whenever a newer app version is made available to download the user gets an alert on logging into the mobile app that ‘A newer version <version number> of this app is now available. Do you want to update to the latest version?’. The user can either update the version with the latest mobile app or opt to update the app later.

Introducing additional message templates for parsing conditions

A new checkbox Define Phishing Warning Message to Exclude While Parsing is added under Notification Parser > Configure Parsing Conditions Approve tab for parsing emails to overcome phishing.

It allows to address the notification parser e-mails having phishing related additional messages in the organization e-mails.

Performance Enhancements

Notes

  • Microsoft migrated from ADAL.NET to MSAL.NET. For multi-tenant apps, use "/common" in the authorization URL when the Azure portal's Multi-Tenant checkbox is enabled; otherwise, replace it with the Tenant ID.

  • The JS scripts and CSS are being successfully applied to the newly created themes in the new Tenant.

  • The Instance and Catalog ID attributes are optional when retrieving the service request details list using the SR_GetMyRequestDetails API.
