Configure Global Tenancy for Business Rule Designer
We have introduced an option to add Global Tenancy to the Business Rule Designer page to allow the creation of configurations in Global Tenant. When we create a Business Rule Configuration in the Global Tenant, the same Configuration and its properties will be inherited in the Local Tenants. You can View and Localize a Global Configuration Value by using the newly introduced Delink option in the Local Tenant.

You can perform the following functions under Business Rule Designer in Global Tenant:
- Create Configurations in the Global Tenant.
- View Configurations in Global & Local Tenant.
- Localization of Global value by delinking it in the Local tenant.
Configure Business Rule for Global Tenant
To add Business Rule in the Global Tenant, perform the following steps:
- Select Admin > Basic > Infrastructure > Business Rule.
On the BUSINESS RULE page, click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel. The following page is displayed.

3. Select the Tenant and fill in the required details. For more information on how to Configure a Business Rule, see Business Rule Designer.
- Fill in the other required details under RULE DEFINITION, TRIGGER, CONDITION, and ACTION sections.
- Click SUBMIT. A new Business Rule is configured.
Notes
- In the GLOBAL TENANT, under the CONDITION section, only the Tenant specific fields will be displayed under the Field There will not be any Domain specific fields in the dropdown because we cannot update these fields in the GLOBAL TENANT.
Figure: CONDITION section Field values - Similarly, under the ACTION section, in UPDATE FIELDS, in the Fields section only the Tenant specific fields will be displayed under the Field Dropdown.
- Under the NOTIFICATION Action, the list of Notification Templates displayed will be those which have been created in the GLOBAL.
Deactivating Global Value in Global Tenant
To Deactivate a Business Rule in a Global Tenant, perform the following steps.
- Select Admin>Basic > Infrastructure > Business Rule.
Business Rule List Page will be displayed. - Select the Tenant as GLOBAL.
- Click the Business Rule Name value that you want to Deactivate > Under RULE DEFINITION unselect the Active Checkbox as shown below.

Viewing the Business Rules Configurations in Local Tenant
- Select Admin >Basic > Infrastructure > Business Rule.
Business Rule List Page will be displayed. Select the Tenant as any Local Tenant. The Configured Business Rule will be represented by a Globe Icon next to It.
Figure: Business Rules List PageThe Icon next to the Business Rule displayed designates the status of the Configuration of the Global Business Rule Configuration. Refer the below table to understand what each icon represents.

Global Configuration
Grey Globe Icon represents a value that is a Global Configuration. The Global tenant is a tenant which is configured and available for all the child (local) tenants.
De-link
Global Configuration – Delinked.
A Global Configuration can be delinked and converted to a Local Configuration,
when there is a need to modify the configuration at the Local Tenant level.
Click the Global Business Rule Name. Business Rule configuration page will be displayed.
Figure: Business Rule Configuration Local TenantNone of the properties of the Business Rule Configuration Page are editable. We can only De-link the Business Rule in the Local Tenant.
Delink Global Business Rule Configuration
The De-link option is provided in the Actions panel when there is a Global value configuration in details page of a Local tenant. You can Delink a Global value configuration in Local Tenant to make changes to any properties that were earlier restricted as they were a Global value configuration.
To De-link a Global Business Rule value, perform the following steps:
- Select Admin >Basic > Infrastructure > Business Rule.
Business Rule List Page will be displayed. - Select the Tenant as any Local Tenant.
Click the Business Rule Name of the Business Rule to be De-linked. The Business Rule Configuration page will be displayed.
On the ACTIONS panel, click DELINK option.

All the properties of the configuration will be configurable upon clicking the De-link option and you will get a prompt, “By delinking the values, Global value will be converted to Local, upon clicking on the Submit button.”
- Click SUBMIT and then click OK to Save the details.

After the details have been saved, click SHOW LIST to view the Delinked Configuration.Notes
- Once you Delink the Business Rule, all the fields except the Tenant field will become editable and this Configuration will become a Local Configuration. Any changes done in the Global Configuration will not reflect here anymore.
The Delinked Configuration will be replaced by a De-link Icon to signify that the configuration has been converted to Local value.
When you hover onto the icon you can view the tooltip as ‘Global value converted to Local value.’
A Global value once Delinked cannot be Re-linked.
