Configuring Discovery templates for Linux desktop monitors

 Enabling command for Linux machines

To get the Discovery data for Linux machines, enable the command ddcutil detect and add it to your template. By default, these commands are not available in Linux machines.

Configuring the Discovery template for Linux desktop monitors

 To configure the Discovery template, perform the following steps: 

  1. Navigate to Discovery > Discovery templates.

  2. On the DISCOVERY TEMPLATES page, click FILTERS on the ACTION panel.

  3. Select the Tenant and click SUBMIT.

  4. On the Records, select the predefined Template from the list. For example, A template named ‘Secure Shell’ is selected from the Template Name column.

    The following details are displayed for the selected Discovery template.

  5. Click the Edit icon under the Action column to view the CONTENT PARSER for the Monitor Details.



    The pop-up page for
    CONTENT PARSER appears as shown below:

    The CONTENT PARSER for Monitor Details fetches the following details as shown under the Defined Key column.

  6.  Check the data under the Defined Key column. Refer to the note below for more details.

    Note

    When defining the Keys adhere to the template's formatting guidelines. For example: Monitor Manufacture Name should be formatted same as in Defined Key column.

     

  7.  Click SUBMIT. A pop-up box gets displayed with a message Saved successfully.
