Mapping ServiceNow Category

You can map the SUMMIT Asset Management fields with the ServiceNow Asset Management fields on the SERVICENOW CATEGORY MAPPING page. At the beginning, you must configure the Tenant on the SERVICENOW CONFIGURATION page (for more details, see Configuring ServiceNow from the SummitAI Platform Online Help) and add the categories for the configured Tenants on the FORM BUILDER page. To know more about creating Asset Management categories on the FORM BUILDER page, see Configuring Asset Category Using Form Builder.
To configure ServiceNow Category Mapping:
Select Asset > Configuration > Mapping > ServiceNow Category Mapping. The SERVICENOW CATEGORY MAPPING page is displayed.
On the SERVICENOW CATEGORY MAPPING page, you can see all the SUMMIT categories configured on the FORM BUILDER page. Select the category that you want to map.

On the Field Mapping tab, select the values from the Summit Field drop-down list to map them with the respective ServiceNow Fields. If the Data Type is mentioned as reference, you have to select a value from the Unique Reference Field drop-down list.
Note:
Ensure that the same Unique Reference Field value is not repeated for one category. But select the same Unique Reference Field value, if the reference type is same. For example, you have selected Active for reference (core company). You have to select Active wherever it asks to specify the value for reference (core company).

On the Reference Mapping tab, specify the required information. To know more about the fields on the Reference Mapping tab, see Field Description section below.

Field Description
The following table describes the fields on the SERVICENOW CATEGORY MAPPING page.

Tenant | Select the Tenant from the drop-down list. |
Category | Select the category configured on the FORM BUILDER page to map with the ServiceNow category. |
ServiceNow Category | Select the category that you want to map with the SUMMIT categories. |
Field Mapping | |
Summit Field | Select the field form the drop-down list to map with the respective ServiceNow field. after it is mapped, Data is shared between the mapped fields. |
Unique Reference Field | It is a sub-field of the ServiceNow field. Select the value from the drop-down list to map the SUMMIT field with the ServiceNow sub-field. If is displayed in case of reference Data Type. |
Reference Mapping | |
Default Value | Specify default value(s) for the mandatory field(s) of ServiceNow reference type(s). |
ACTIONS
This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the SERVICENOW CATEGORY MAPPING page:
RESYNC DATA
Click RESYNC DATA to send the entire Asset data to ServiceNow. The data is sent only when the respective job runs.
SHOW LIST
Click SHOW LIST to view the list of categories configured on the FORM BUILDER page for Category Mapping.
Filters
Click Filters and specify the filter criteria to view the list of categories configured on the FORM BUILDER page for Category Mapping.
Click PRINT to print the entire page.
EXPORT TO EXCEL
Click EXPORT TO EXCEL to export the records displayed specifically on the page to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
EXPORT ALL
Click EXPORT ALL to export all the records to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
