The ASSET - CMDB SYNC report displays Asset-CMDB synchronization details. The report information is extracted based on the specified filter criteria. This report will provide details such as Asset category, Asset Code, Asset added by, updated by and deactivated by. Admin or Analyst can access the report based on access privileges assigned through roles.

 Additional Information

Provision to synchronize data between Assets and CMDB (Configuration Management Database Systems) is done based on asset category and CMDB classification. These assets can be newly added or updated. The Admins or Analysts can generate this Asset CMDB Sync report and retrieve information such as the category of asset, Asset Code, if the asset is in transit and the condition of asset. The primary purpose of this report is to have a proper record of all assets, its physical condition, details like asset details updates. If asset details where updated when was it updated  and who updated.

Steps to access Asset CMDB Sync Report

  1. Navigate to Reports Asset Management Asset CMDB Sync Report.
  2. Click Filters on the Action panel to specify the filter criteria for generating the report. The criteria FILTERS pop-up appears.

 3. Enter or select the values for Filter fields as described in the following table.  

Field 

Description 

Tenant*

Tenant is similar to department in an organization, example : Operations, IT. Select the Tenant name from the list. This is a mandatory field. For more information, see Configuring Tenants

Process Date

Enter the specific from and To dates if required. This field is not mandatory.

Asset Category

The form of Asset. Example: Laptop, Desktop, CD, Mouse.

Import Type

Two types of import types, Asset to CI import and CI to Asset import.

CMDB Classification

Select from the list of configured CMDB classification.

Status

Two Status options are available- SUCCESS and FAIL

Search ByReports can be searched based on Asset ID or CI ID.
Search ValueReports can be searched based on Asset ID or CI ID.

4. Click SUBMIT.

Filed Description

FieldDescription
Asset IDUnique numeric code of the Asset.
CI IDUnique Configuration Item ID.
CMDB ClassificationThe preconfigured classifications of CMDB. Example: Server, Network Link.
Classification PathThe preconfigured classification path in CMDB. Example: Server, Network Device.
Template NameDisplays the name of the template that was created while Asset - CMDB syncing.
Sync StatusDisplays if Asset and CMDB sync is a Success or Failure.
Processed TimeDisplays the time and date at which the Synchronization took place.
Import typeDisplays if the import was Asset to CI or CI to Asset.

You can further drill-down on the Asset or CI to know more details by clicking the respective Asset ID or CI ID hyperlinks.

Click the Refresh Report to fetch latest details for the report. Any changes performed after the Reports page was loaded, will reflect if you click on Refresh Report 

ACTIONS

You can perform the following actions from the ACTIONS  panel of the Asset CMDB Sync Report page. 

Icon

Action 

 

Prints the displayed report records. 

 

Exports the displayed records on the page to a Microsoft Excel sheet. 

 

Exports the complete list of report records to a Microsoft Excel sheet
