Configuration

The act of identifying, organizing, and regulating a project's many components, such as its deliverables, documentation, and changes, is known as configuration management in  project management. It entails establishing and upholding consistency and integrity throughout the project's lifespan to make sure that the end products and artefacts are controlled appropriately and meet the criteria.

By ensuring that the project's components are correctly identified, regulated, and managed throughout the project lifecycle, configuration management plays a crucial role in project management. This improves quality, control, and successful project results.

Department

The process of organizing and structuring project teams or departments inside an organization to efficiently carry out projects is referred to as department configuration in project management. It entails outlining the duties, accountability, and reporting structures of the many departments taking part in project delivery.

Configure Department

  1. Navigate to Project > Configuration >Department
  2. The following window is displayed.

           3. Right-click on any node to perform the following actions. For more information, refer the table below.

Field

Description

Create Root Node

Choose the Child Node and right click for creating the Root Node.

Create Child Node

Right click on the Node to create the Child Node

Rename

Choose the Node to be Renamed.

Deactivate

Select the Node to be Deactivated.

Configure

Choose the Node to be Configured.

      4. When we click Configure, the following window is displayed. Here we can configure the new Node details and SUBMIT.

Resource Type

In project management, the process of classifying and identifying various types of resources needed to successfully finish a project is known as resource type configuration. It entails determining the precise kinds of resources required, defining them, and figuring out how they will be distributed and managed over the course of the project lifecycle.

Project managers can optimize project execution, improve resource utilization, and raise the likelihood that the project will be successful by carefully configuring resource types to ensure that the appropriate resources are assigned to the appropriate tasks at the appropriate times.

Configure Resource Type

  1. Navigate to Project > Configuration > Resource Type.
  2. The following window is displayed.

        3. Enter the required fields and SUBMIT.

        4. On the ACTIONS tab, the SHOW LIST icon is displayed which lists the configured Resource Types.

Master Management

Master management, as used in project management, describes the procedure for supervising and coordinating numerous projects inside a given program or organization. It involves a higher level of planning, monitoring, and control to ensure that all projects align with the organization's strategic objectives, are properly resourced, and progress towards their intended outcomes.

Organizations can gain greater coordination, alignment, and control across numerous projects within a program by putting into practice effective master management practices. It gives the organization the ability to take advantage of synergies, maximize resource usage, manage risks, and provide successful results that are in line with strategic goals.

Configure Master Management

  1. Navigate to Project > Configuration > Master Management.
  2. The following window is displayed.

         3. Enter the required details and SUBMIT.

Cost Center

A cost center in project management is a particular organizational unit or department inside an organization that is in charge of racking up expenses related to the project. It is a phrase from accounting and budgeting that is used to track and distribute expenses for project activities, resources, and deliverables.

An organized method of controlling project expenses, planning, and financial control is offered by cost centers. They support project management by facilitating cost tracking, analysis, and decision-making, enabling efficient resource allocation, cost control, and performance assessment.

Configure Cost Center

  1. Navigate to Project > Configuration > Cost Center.

       The following window is displayed.

      2. Choose the Department that needs to be selected and move it using the arrow forward and backward.

      3. Enter the Cost Center, enable the Active checkbox, and SUBMIT.

Feedback Questions

To acquire information, evaluate progress, pinpoint problem areas, and promote teamwork among project team members, feedback is vital in project management. For team members and stakeholders to give candid and helpful input, a safe and open environment is crucial. Throughout the course of the project, feedback should be gathered at regular intervals to ensure continual improvement and address any problems or difficulties as soon as they arise.

Configure Feedback Questions

  1. Navigate to Project > Configuration > Feedback Question.
  2. The following window is displayed.

    3. Enter the required information and SUBMIT.

Employee Rate Card

The cost or billing rates for various categories of employees or resources within an organisation are described on an employee rate card, which is also referred to as a billing rate card or resource rate card. It offers transparency and clarity regarding the fees assessed for the skills or services of project-related employees.

It's vital to keep in mind that an employee rate card's specifics and format can change depending on the organisation, industry, and particular project management methods. The rate card is used as a resource and a set of instructions for figuring out project expenses, billing customers, and assessing the financial effects of resource use in project management.

Configure Employee Rate Card

  1. Navigate to Project > Configuration > Configure Employee Rate Card.
  2. The following window is displayed.

  3. Select the Employee Name and configure their Rate/Hour according to the Currency.

Rate Card by Location

Rate cards by location act as a point of reference and a plan for setting prices, estimating costs, negotiating contracts, and making financial plans. They assist firms or organisations in ensuring that their pricing methods are uniform, open, and equitable throughout various marketplaces or geographical areas.

Various sectors utilise rate cards by location as a pricing tool or document to describe various prices or pricing structures depending on distinct geographic regions. It aids in establishing the price or cost of goods, services, or resources in various regions or markets.

Configure Rate Card by Location

  1. Navigate to Project > Configuration > Rate Card by Location.
  2. The following window is displayed.
