Feature released in SummitAI Asset Management (Alps HF01)

What is Endpoint Automation?

Endpoint Automation is the ability to automatically configure, coordinate, and manage Endpoint devices and software. An Endpoint is a remote computing device that communicates back and forth with a network to which it is connected. Few examples include Desktops, Laptops, and Servers.

Endpoint Automation in SummitAI Asset Management includes the following:

  • Configure Scripts on Endpoints

The Administrators can configure Scripts on the ENDPOINT AUTOMATION SCRIPT (Asset > Configuration > Endpoints > Endpoint Automation Script) page. This page captures the Script Name along with the corresponding script description, Criticality, Category and Schedule Profile along with the Execution details, Validation script details and Remediation script details.

  •  Schedule Script Execution

The Administrators can configure Scripts, which are scheduled to run on the Endpoints on daily and weekly basis. This is done on the ENDPOINT AUTOMATION SCHEDULER page (Assets > Configuration > Endpoints > Endpoint Automation Scheduler).

  • Incident and Action Templates

The Administrators can configure the Incident Templates on the INCIDENT TEMPLATE page (Admin >Advanced >Notifications >Incident Template) to raise Incidents in case of any Event that requires Incidents to be raised.

The Administrators can also configure the Action Templates on the ACTION TEMPLATE page (Admin >Advanced >Notifications >Action Template) to define the actions to be taken if an Event occur. Actions, such as sending e-mail notifications, logging Incidents, and so on.

  • Mapping Profiles to Asset Groups

The list of Scripts is displayed on the ENDPOINT AUTOMATION PROFILE MAPPING page (Asset > Configuration > Endpoints > Endpoint Automation Profile Mapping) based on the Tenant selection. The Endpoint Automation Profile Mapping page helps in mapping the Scripts to a set of Assets under the selected Tenant.
