The Software License Usage Trend Report displays the report in a tabular format of the software licenses installed in a particular year. The report allows you to view monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly license installation details which cumulates to the total number of installations for a year.  Admin or Analyst can access the report based on access privileges assigned through roles.

 Additional Information

Using the Software License Usage Trend report, you can view the software names and frequency of installation on monthly, quarterly, haf-yearly, and yearly basis. This will help you to know the actual trend of software installation whether it is increasing or decreasing over the selected time period. In addition, you can also click on the count mentioned against the frequency to actually know where the installations have been performed.

Steps to access Software License Usage Trend Report:

  1. Navigate to Reports > Asset Management > Software License Usage Trend Report.
  2. Click Filters on the Action panel to specify the filter criteria for generating the report.
    The FILTERS pop-up appears.

  3. Enter or select the values for Filter fields as described in the following table. 

    FieldDescription
    Department *Select the Tenant from the list available. This is a mandatory field. For more details, view Tenant.
    Generate Report *

    Select the frequency of the report from the following options to generate the report:

    • Yearly: Select Yearly, to fetch software license usage report on a Yearly-basis. It displays count of software installed each year.  
    • Half Yearly: Select Half Yearly, to fetch software license usage report on a Half Yearly-basis. It displays count of software installed on half-yearly basis.   
    • Quarterly: Select Quarterly, to fetch software license usage report on a Quarterly-basis. It displays count of software installed each quarter.  
    • Monthly: Select Monthly, to fetch software license usage report on a Monthly-basis. It displays count of software installed each Month.  
    Include In-Store AssetSelect the Include In-Store Asset checkbox to include the software which are in-store assets too in the count of software license usage trend report.
  4. Click SUBMIT.
  5. The count of software installed based on frequency selected is displayed. This report will help you to gain an insight of software usage trend over a period of time. It helps you to understand, if the software requirement is increasing, decreasing, or remains steady.

  6. The following Table provides a brief description of the columns displayed.

    FieldDescription
    License NameIndicates the software name that is licensed and already installed for the selected Department along with the usage trend for the selected period.
    Previous YearIndicates count of software installed in the previous year.
    Yearly countDisplays the count of software for each year, when you select Yearly as the Generate Report frequency.
    Half-Yearly count (Jan to June & July to December)Displays the count of software on half-yearly basis, when you select Half-Yearly as the Generate Report frequency.
    Quarterly count (Jan to March, April to June, July to Sep, and Oct to December)Displays the count of software for each quarter, when you select Quarterly as the Generate Report frequency.

Click the Refresh Report to fetch latest details for the report. Any changes performed after the Reports page was loaded, will reflect if you click on Refresh Report .

ACTIONS

You can perform following actions from the ACTIONS panel of the Software License Usage Report page.

IconAction

Prints the records displayed on the corresponding Table.

Exports the displayed records on the page to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
