What is a Domain?

A Domain is the customer of a Managed Service Provider (MSP). The organization name is generally the Domain name. You can configure Domains and map them to Role Templates and Users. You can also configure the Password Policy for a Domain.

To Configure Domain:

  1. Select Admin> Basic > Infrastructure >Domain.
  2. On the DOMAIN page, click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel.
  3. Provide data in all the fields and then click SUBMIT. A new Domain is added successfully. For more information about the fields on the DOMAIN page see, field description.

    Domain NameSelect a Domain name.
    Global

    Select Global check box to make this Domain as the Global Domain.

    Note: A Global Domain is the top-level Domain in an organization to advertise its website worldwide. A Global Domain also includes organization-specific Domains under it.

    Example: The Symphonysummit is a Global Domain of the Symphony SummitAI whereas the Symphonysummit_sb123 and the Symphonysummit_sb321 are the Symphony SummitAI- specific Domains.

    Note: You can configure only one Domain as a Global Domain.

    Language

    Select a Language from the drop-down list. The selected language is applied to all the users mapped to this Domain. 

    Note: To use this option, the Language Translation needs to be enabled by the Administrator (see: Language Translation).

    Display LANGUAGE Icon

    If selected, the LANGUAGE icon on the top navigation bar is available to the users (see: Describing the User Interface). The users can then select the language in which they want to translate the pages (see: Language Translation).

    PASSWORD POLICY CONFIGURATION
    Minimum Password LengthSpecify the minimum password length of the password.
    Include Special CharactersIf selected, there should be at least one special character (e.g. @#$% ) in the password.
    Include Numbers (0-9)If selected, there should be at least one number (0-9) in the password.
    Include Upper Case (A-Z)If selected, there should be at least one upper case (A-Z) in the password.
    Include Lower Case (a-z)If selected, there should be at least one lower case (a-z) in the password.
    Exclude CharactersThis check box is selected by default and is a read-only check box. the password cannot contain the following characters: ({}[]()/\'"~,;:<>
    No. of Days for Password ExpirySpecify the number of days after which the users password should expire.
    Password Expiry Alert (days)Specify the number of days before which the user must receive password expiry alerts notification. Example: If 10 is specified in this text box, and the password expiry date is 20th May 2019, the user starts receiving password expiry notifications from 10th May 2019.
    Password History CountSpecify the number of previously used passwords that can not be reused.
    Incorrect Password AttemptsSpecify the allowed number of incorrect password attempts after which user's account should get locked.
    Unlock Account (in Mins.)Specify the time after which user's account gets unlocked automatically.
    ActiveIf selected, this Domain becomes active.

    Note:

    If none of the following check boxes are selected: Include Special Characters, Include Numbers, Include Upper Case, and Include Lower Case, the default Password Policy as explained below comes into effect.

      • The password should be alphanumeric (Ex: ABC123).
      • The password should contain special characters (Ex: ABC@123).

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the DOMAIN page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the configured Domains.

Note:

Domain ID column in the LIST table displays the ID associated with every configuration.

Domain ID will help analysts with handy information, especially when managing the API calls during the integration of SummitAI with third-party application.
