You can add and modify the Services for CIs for a selected Tenant.

To add Services:

  1. Select CMDB > User > Services.  
  2. On the Services page, click the ADD SERVICE icon on the ACTIONS panel.

  3. Select the Tenant and fill in the required details as described in the following table:

    Field

    Description

    Tenant

    Select the Tenant from the list.

    Service Name

    Type in the name of the new Service.

    Start Date

    Specify the date from which the Service is available.

    Owner

    Type in the name of the owner of the Server. You can also search for the owner using the Search icon.

    Status

    Select the status for the Service.

    Description

    Type in a description for the Service.

    Active

    Indicates the status of the Impact value.

    • If selected, the Service becomes an available option on the other pages of the application.
    • If not selected, the Service becomes an inactive value. The inactive Impact values are not displayed in the Service list on the other pages of the application.

  4. Type in the other required details under the GENERAL and RELATIONSHIP tabs. For more information about the fields under these tabs on the SERVICES page, see Field Description. Click SUBMIT. A new Service is added.

Field Description

This section describes the fields on the SERVICES page.

 GENERAL Tab

Type in the description keywords for the Service in the Service Description Keywords field.

The following table describes the fields on the GENERAL tab of the SERVICES page:

Field

Description

CONFIGURATION ITEMS

ID

Displays the unique identification number of a Service.

After the Configuration Item is linked, a unique Service ID is generated.

Device/Host Name

Displays the device name or host name of the device associated with the Configuration Item.

Serial No.

Displays the serial number of the device associated with the Configuration Item.

Make

Displays the make of the device.

Model No.

Displays the model number of the device.

Location

Displays the location of the device.

Description

Displays the description.

Delete

Click Delete icon to delete the linked Configuration Items.

Service Description Keywords

Type in the keywords you want to associate with the linked Configuration Items.

 RELATIONSHIP Tab

You can link related Incidents, Service Requests (SRs), and Service Catalog to the CI Service using the Link list under the RELATIONSHIP tab. You can also create new Incidents and Service Requests (SRs) and link to the CI Service using the Create list.

To link any module to a CI Service:

  1. Click the module name in the Link drop-down list. The RELATIONSHIP pop-up page is displayed.

  2. Enter the required details and click SEARCH.
  3. Select the record to be linked and click LINK.
  4. The linked record is displayed under the RELATIONSHIP tab.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the SERVICES page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the Services configured for the selected Tenant.

  •  To edit a Service, click the Service Name. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • To display the inactive Impact values, click the Include Inactive check box.

    Note:

    When the Services are displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure a new Service.

LINK CI

Click LINK CI to link CIs to the Service. The CMDB RELATION pop-up page is displayed. Specify the filter criteria and click SEARCH. The CIs matching the filter criteria are displayed. Select the check box of the CIs you want to link and click SUBMIT.

CI SERVICE RELATIONSHIP

Click CI SERVICE RELATIONSHIP to view the relationship of the service with CIs. You can move around the Service and CI icons for better readability. Click the Restore button to restore the diagram to its original form.
