You can add details for a Software Asset type (see: Asset Types). You can configure details, such as license name, license type, company name, and so on for a selected Category of Software Asset.

To add Software Assets:

  1. Select Asset > User > Asset Inventory. The ASSET INVENTORY page is displayed. For more information about ASSET INVENTORY page, see Asset Inventory.

  2. On the ASSET INVENTORY page, select SOFTWARE.

  3. On the ACTIONS panel, click ADD. The ADD SOFTWARE page is displayed.

  4. On the ADD SOFTWARE page, select the Tenant, Category, and search for a Store using the Search icon. Based on the selected Category and Store, the details are displayed.

  5. Under the SOFTWARE DETAILS section, specify the required information for the new Asset. For more information about the fields on the ADD SOFTWARE page, see 27558364.

  6. Click SUBMIT.

Field Description

The following table describes the fields on the ADD SOFTWARE page:

Category

Select the Category to which you want to add the Software.

Store

Select the Store to which you want to add the Software.

FIXED GROUP

Publisher

Select the Publisher of the Software. You can configure the Publisher on the COMMON MASTERS page using the Master Type Publisher. For more information about how to configure a Master Type, see Configuring Common Masters in SummitAI General Online Help.

Contract Mapping

Select the Contract Mapping from the drop-down list. The Contacts are configured on the AGREEMENT DETAILS page. For more information about how to add Contract details, see Adding Agreement Details.

License Model

Select the License Model for the Software that you want to add. You can configure the License Model on the COMMON MASTERS page using the Master Type License Model. For more information about how to configure a Master Type, see Configuring Common Masters in SummitAI General Online Help.

SKU Number

Type in the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) Number of the Software License.

Customer

Select the Customer from the drop-down list. You can add Customers on the CUSTOMER LIST page. For more information about how to add a Customer, see Adding Customers in SummitAI General Online Help.

Licensing Rule

Select the License Rule from the drop-down list. Based on the Licensing Rule that you select, the users can generate the PVU Based license Compliance report. See PVU Based License Compliance.
Note: The Licensing Rule field is displayed only when the user selects PVU Based in the License Model field.

Show Software Inventory

  • With Software Version: If selected, you can specify the version of the software in the Software Version field under the LICENSE DETAILS section.
  • With Service Pack: If selected, you can specify the service pack in the Service Pack field under the LICENSE DETAILS section.

LICENSE DETAILS

License Publisher

Select the Software Licence Publisher from the drop-down list.

License Name

Select the Software Licence Name from the drop-down list.

License Type

Select the Software Licence Type from the drop-down list.

From Date

Select the Date of Purchase of the Software License.

To Date

Select the Date until which the Software License is valid.

Keywords (Exist)

Specify the keywords that exists in the License Name to map the license to the Software Publisher.

Keywords (Not Exist)

Specify the keywords that do not exist in the License Name to map the license to the Software Publisher.

License Key

Specify the Software License Key.

Quantity

Specify the Quantity of the Software License(s).

Unit Price($)

Specify the Unit Price of the Software License.

Software Version

Select the version of the software from the drop-down list.

Service Pack

Select the service pack from the drop-down list.
