You can configure Discovery Mapping. In Discovery Mapping, for each Category of Asset, the fields that should be displayed during the Asset Discovery process are mapped. In Asset Discovery, all the hardware and software components of the IT inventory in the organization are identified and their details are captured and stored in the Asset repository.

To configure Discovery Mapping:

  1. Select Asset > Configuration > Mapping > Discovery Mapping.

  2. On the DISCOVERY MAPPING page, select the Tenant and fill in the required details. For more information about fields and icons on the DISCOVERY MAPPING page, see Field Description.

  3. Click SUBMIT. The Discovery Mapping is configured.

Field Description

The following table describes the fields on the DISCOVERY MAPPING page.

Category

Select a Category from the list. Based on the selected Category, the fields are displayed for mapping.

  • Display Name: Displays the Display name of the field.
  • Display Name: Type in a Display Name for the field.
  • Field Mapping: Select the field to be mapped with the Display Name. Once the field is mapped, it cannot be changed while discovering new Asset on the NEW DISCOVERY page.
  • Sort Order: Type in the sort order number for the field.
  • Mandatory: Select this check box if the field is mandatory.
  • Show In Variance: Select this check box to display the field value in Asset Variance.
