The Cloud DISCOVERY page allows user to configure Jobs for discovering Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) VM's, view discovered VM's and to add discovered Azure and AWS VM's for Monitoring.

To add discovered Cloud Servers for monitoring:

  1. Select Admin > Advanced > Discovery & Monitoring > Cloud Discovery. The CLOUD DISCOVERY page is displayed.
  2. On the CLOUD DISCOVERY page, select the filter criteria on the FILTERS pop-up page.

Field Description

The following table describes the fields on the FILTERS pop-up page.

Fields

Description

Tenant

Select a Tenant from the drop-down list.

Cloud Type

Select Azure or Amazon Web Services Cloud Type, for which you want to configure the jobs.

Monitoring Source

Select the Monitoring Source from the drop-down list.

Run at Proxy

Select the Proxy on which you want to run the job.


 Cloud Discovery for Azure
  1. Specify the details on the CONFIGURATION tab to configure a job for discovery.

    Fields

    Description

    Job Name

    Type in a name for the Job to be configured.

    Directory ID

    Specify the Azure Active Directory ID. This is received from Azure portal.

    Application ID

    Specify the Application ID received from Azure Portal.

    API Access Key

    Specify the API Access Key received from Azure Portal.

  2. Click SUBMIT. The Job is configured successfully.
  3. To view the jobs configured for a proxy, select the proxy in the FILTERS pop-up page and click on the JOBS tab. The Jobs configured for the selected proxy are displayed.

    Fields

    Description

    View Jobs

    Click on the search icon  to navigate to the ADD VM FOR MONITORING tab.

    Job Name

    Displays the name of the Job.

    Start Time

    Displays the time the job started.

    End Time

    Displays the time the job ended.

    Status

    Displays the job status. Hover the mouse pointer above the status icon to view the status.

    Re-run

    Click on the Re-run icon to re-run the job.


  4. Click on the search icon in the View Jobs column of the respective Job. The ADD VM FOR MONITORING tab is displayed listing the Subscription. Expand the Subscription name to view the list of VM's available under it. See the below field description.

    Fields

    Description

    VM Name

    Displays the name of the VM.

    Public IP

    Displays the public IP address of the VM.

    Private IP

    Displays the private IP address of the VM.

    VM Size

    Displays the size of the VM.

    Disk Size (GB)

    Displays the disk size in GB.

    State

    Displays the state of the VM.

    Check box

    Select the check box to add the corresponding VM for monitoring.


  5. Select the check box corresponding to the VM details, which you want to add for monitoring. Click SUBMIT. The selected VM's are added for monitoring.

    Note:

    To add all the available VM's for monitoring, select the check box corresponding to the Subscription name. The VM's which are already added for monitoring will have the check box selected by default.

 Cloud Discovery for AWS
  1. Specify the details on the CONFIGURATION tab to configure a job for discovery. See the below field description.

    Fields

    Description

    Job Name

    Type in a name for the Job to be configured.

    Region

    Specify the region for which you want to configure the job.

    Access Key

    Specify the Access Key received from AWS Portal.

    Secret Key

    Specify the Secret key received from AWS Portal.

  2. Click SUBMIT. The Job is configured successfully.

  3. To view the jobs configured for a proxy, select the proxy in the FILTERS pop-up page and click on the JOBS tab. The Jobs configured for the selected proxy are displayed. See the below field description.

    Fields

    View Jobs

    Job Name

    Displays the name of the Job.

    Start Time

    Displays the time the job started.

    Status

    Displays the job status. Hover the mouse pointer above the status icon to view the status.

    Re-run

    Click on the Re-run icon to re-run the job.


  4. Click on the search icon in the View Jobs column of the respective Job. The ADD VM FOR MONITORING tab is displayed listing the Subscription. Expand the Subscription name to view the list of VM's available under it. See the below field description.

  5. Select the check box corresponding to the VM details, which you want to add for monitoring. Click SUBMIT. The selected VM's are added for monitoring.

    Note:

    To add all the available VM's for monitoring, select the check box corresponding to the Subscription name. The VM's which are already added for monitoring will have the check box selected by default.
