You can create, modify, and specify configuration details of a View. You can create Views in the following ways: Creating Views from Drawing Board or Creating Views from Discovered Devices List.
To create Views from a Drawing Board:
- Select Operations > Configuration > Networks > View > Edit View.
- On the EDIT VIEW page, click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel.
- On the DRAW VIEW page, select the Tenant and other required details. For more information about fields on the DRAW VIEW page, see Field Description.

The following table describes the fields on the ADD DEVICE pop-up page:
Field
Description
Tenant
Lists the configured Tenants. Select a Tenant from the list.
Job Name
Lists all the Jobs created for discovering devices from Network. All the jobs configured for the selected Tenant are displayed in the list. Select a Job from the list.
Available Devices
Lists all the available devices with the details, such as IP Address, Host Name, and Device Type for the selected Job Name. Select one or more devices that you wish to add to the Network View and click the icon. The selected devices are displayed in the Selected Devices list. If you want to select all the devices in the Available Devices list, select the check box in the header row of the list. You can also search for a device using the SEARCH text box.
Selected Devices
Lists the selected devices for creating a Network View. If you want to remove one or more devices from the Selected Devices list, select the check boxes for the devices and click the icon. You can also search for a device using the SEARCH text box.
Override Device Details
Select this check box to override the selected device details.
Note:
You can also right-click on the drawing board to get a menu from where you can choose to add devices, Servers, Printers, etc. For more information about the various options available in the right-click menu, see Creating Editing Views.
Figure: Right-Click MenuCreating Editing ViewsOn the EDIT VIEW page (Operations > User > Views > Create Views > Draw Network Views)., you can edit a View, add new devices, view IP address, host name of the selected device, search for devices, and perform other tasks to modify a View.
On the EDIT VIEW page, right-click on the Drawing Board area and a list of options are displayed using which you can perform the following tasks:
Display/ Hide the IP addresses. Right-click on the network diagram and select Show IP Address. To hide the IP addresses on the network diagram, right-click on the network diagram and select Hide IP Address.

Display/ Hide the host names. Right-click on the network diagram and select Show Host Name. To hide the host names on the network diagram, right-click the network diagram and select Hide Host Name.

- Search for any device on the network diagram using Search Device option.
- Pin/ Unpin devices. If you Pin a device, the device is fixed to that position and you cannot change the position by dragging. If you Un-pin a device, the device can be moved from its fixed position to a new position. The option to unpin a device is available only if a device is pinned.
- Delete any node from the network diagram using the Delete Node.
- Add Connectors between the source device and the destination device using the Add Connectors option. After you click the Add Connectors option, an outline is displayed around the device, place the mouse pointer on the device and drag it to the destination device. The Connector is added between the source device and the destination device. You can edit, move, or delete the Connectors using the Edit Connector, Move Connector, and Delete Connector options.
- Points help you to position the Links/Connectors between the devices in an angular position to provide better look and feel to a Network Diagram. Add, remove, show, and hide Points using the Add Point, Remove Point, Hide Points, and Show Points options.
- Jumpers provide clear picture about the Connectors, especially, when the Connectors are complex in a Network Diagram. Add or remove the Jumpers using the Add Jumper and Remove Jumper options.
- Send the devices behind the Drawing Board or on the Drawing Board for the overlapped devices using the Send to Back and Send to Front options.
- View the Interface information of the Network Device using the Show Interface Information option.
- View the device history using the Show Device History option.
- View/ hide the grid using the Show Grid/ Hide Grid options.
Re size the window by specifying the width and height using the Re size Window option.

- Add devices using the Add Device option. For more information about the fields on the Add Network Device Details pop-up, see Edit Network Device Details.
- Add Servers using the Add Server option. For more information about the fields on the Add Server Details pop-up, see Adding/ Modifying Servers.
- Add Printers using the Add Printer option. For more information about the fields on the Add Printer Details pop-up, see Adding/ Modifying Printers.
Add or edit labels using the Add Label and Edit Label options.

The following table describes the fields on the Add Label pop-up:

Font
Select the font for the label.
Size
Select the size of the label.
Color
Select the color of the font.
Background Color
Select the background color.
Change the background color of the Drawing Board using the Background Color option.

- Move the position of the devices along with the links, using mouse pointer hold and select one or more device and move it to a new position.
- Move the position of complete Network Diagram using the Select All option and moving to a new position. Select Deselect All option to deselect the devices.
- Select multiple devices using the Control (Ctrl) key and delete or edit multiple nodes using the Delete Multiple Node and Edit Multiple Node options.
- Print the Network Diagram displayed on the Drawing Board using the Print Network Diagram option.
Click SUBMIT on the DRAW VIEW page. The Update Device, Server, Printer and Link Details pop-up pages are displayed. Fill in the required details for the newly added devices and click Submit. The devices are added to the View.

Service Entitlement
Lists the configured Service Entitlement options. Select a Service Entitlement option from the list box.
Criticality
Lists the options to specify the criticality of the device
- Ignore
- Low
- Medium
- High
Select an option from the list box based on the criticality of the device.
Customer
Lists the configured customer names. Select a customer name from the list box for whom the device is installed.
Vendor
Lists the configured vendors names. Select a vendor name from the list box. These vendor names are appended to the list each time a device from a new vendor is added during the discovery process.
Location
Lists the configured locations. Select the location of the device.
Ping Protocol
Lists the configured protocol names. Select a protocol using which you want to communicate with the device.
Mail To
Type in the e-mail id of the people to whom the alert / notification mails about the device status need to be sent in “To” list.
- Alert Mail: The alert mail is sent whenever the device is down or whenever the device has crossed the threshold.
- Notification Mail: The notification mail is sent whenever the device status changes to UP from Down and also when the device utilization is below the specified threshold.
Ping Timeout (in ms)
Type in the ping time out for the device. In the specified time the device communicate the destination IP address for the device to reach and record results.
Ping Retry
Type in the number of times the ping operation need to be repeated for the added device.
Server
Do not override properties already exist
- If selected, the existing property values of the Server (of the added device) are not overwritten.
- If not selected, the existing property values of the Server (of the added device) are not overwritten.
Service Entitlement
Lists the configured Service Entitlement options. Select a Service Entitlement option from the list box.
Server Category
Lists the configured Server Categories. Select the Category of the Server for the added device.
Server Type
Lists the configured Server types. Select the type of Server for the added device.
OS Type
Lists the Operating System type for the Server. Select the OS.
Customer
Lists the configured customer names. Select a customer name from the list box for whom the Server is installed.
Vendor
Lists the configured vendors names. Select a vendor name from the list box. These vendor names are appended to the list each time a device from a new vendor is added during the discovery process.
Location
Lists the configured locations. Select the location of the Server.

Field description
The following table describes the fields on the DRAW VIEW page:

View Name | Type in the name for the new View. |
Customer | Lists the configured Customers for the selected Tenant. Select the Customer with whom you want to associate the View. |
Preferred Location | Lists the configured Locations for the selected customer. Select the preferred Location from the list. |
Background Image | Click the Browse icon to select a background image for the View. By default, the application displays black background on the Drawing Board. |
Show In Slide View | Click the check box to display the configured view on the SLIDE VIEW page. |
Active | Indicates the status for the View.

DRAWING BOARD | Allows you to create a View of the network diagram for a LAN/WAN. You can add one or more devices to represent the Network Devices present in LAN/WAN. Devices in this section refers to the units that mediate data in a network. For Example: Switches, Routers, Bridges, Firewalls, Modems, Proxy, Computer, and so on. Different statuses of a device are indicated using color codes.
You can add one or more devices to create network diagram of LAN/WAN. Links here refers to the connectors between two devices. Different statuses of a link is indicated using color codes.

ACTIONS
This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the DRAW VIEW page.
SHOW LIST
Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the configured Views for the selected Tenant.

- To modify a View, click the configured View Name. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
To display the inactive Views, click the Include Inactive check box.
Note:
When the Views are displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure a new View.
ADD DEVICE
Click ADD DEVICE to add a device to the View.
