You can view and modify the CI details on the CI ID page. For more information about fields and icons on the CI ID page, see Adding Configuration Items.
How to Modify CIs?
A related Change Record (CR) should be created for modifying a CI (see: Creating Change Records). You cannot modify a CI directly. Only after the related CR is Implemented, the linked CI can be modified. Make the changes as per the CR and submit the changes . For more information about fields and icons on the CI ID page, see Adding Configuration Items.

ACTIONS
This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the CI ID page.
Click SHOW LIST to view the list of CIs configured. For information about viewing list of CIs, see Viewing List of CIs.
Click RELATIONSHIP to view the relationship of the CI with the other CIs. You can view the Parent CI, Child CI, Peer CI, and Service CI.
- The Parent CI is shown in blue color, Child CI is shown in white color, Peer CI is shown in red color, and Service CI is shown in yellow color in the diagram.
- Move around the CI icons for better readability. Click the Restore button to restore diagram to the original form.
- Upon double-clicking a CI, it's immediate Child/Peer CIs are expanded and shown. The number of relationships a CI has with other CIs is displayed under the CI node within parenthesis.

Note:
The CIs belonging to the User-Defined Classifications are displayed by a different icon for indication purposes only.
Also, all the linked CIs status (Up, Down, Under Maintenance, etc.) are displayed in different colors based on the devices monitored in the SummitAI IT Operations Management.
Note:
- Blue color denotes that the device is UP, Red color denotes that the device is DOWN, and Yellow color denotes Alert.
- The Parent CI is displayed at the center and by default, highlighted in dark blue.
- On selecting any related CI, the CI moves to the center and is highlighted in light blue.
- You can Zoom in or Zoom out by scrolling the mouse.
- You can drag and drop the CIs to arrange the Relationship view.
The following context menu is displayed upon right-clicking the Relationship canvas.

- View CI Details: Upon clicking this menu, the user is directed to the Details page of the selected CI to view the complete CI details. For example, see the following screenshot:

The RELATIONSHIP DETAILS page of a CI displays the linked Incident, Service Request, Change, and/or Problem module tiles along with the CI Info tile. The CI Info tile includes details, such as Serial No, Classification, Host Name, Owner Workgroup, Criticality, IP Address, Description, and Status.
The RELATIONSHIP DETAILS page of a Service displays the linked Incident and/or Service Request module tiles along with the CMDB Service Info tile. The CMDB Service Info tile includes details such as, Service Name, Start Date, Service Owner, Description, and Status.

PRINT
Click icon to print of the CI relationship structure displayed on the pop-up page.
EXPORT TO EXCEL
Click icon to export and download the CI relationship structure data that is displayed on the page to a Microsoft Excel Sheet.
Click HARDWARE VARIANCE to view the Hardware Variance details of the CI. The Hardware Variance indicates the variance in the actual Inventory data and the CMDB data related to a particular piece of hardware.

The following table explains about the fields on the HARDWARE VARIANCE DETAILS pop-up page.
Field | Description |

Field Name | Displays the Field name of the Hardware Attribute. |
CMDB Data | Displays the CMDB hardware details for the CI. |
Actual Discovered Data | Displays the actual hardware details available. |
CREATE CHANGE RECORD | The button is enabled if there is a variance between the CI Management Data and Actual Inventory Data. Click the button to create a new Change Record for the variance. Note: The CREATE CHANGE RECORD button is not available now when the Edit CIs Without CR checkbox is enabled on the TENANT page. |
Click the button to print the report in PDF. | |
Click the button to export the report to a Microsoft Excel sheet. |
Click SOFTWARE VARIANCE to view the Software Variance details about the CI. The Software Variance indicates the variance in the actual configuration data and the CMDB data related to a software found on a particular system.

The following table explains about the fields on the SOFTWARE VARIANCE DETAILS pop-up page:

Software View | Select required option in the drop-down to view the variance data accordingly.

CMDB Data | Displays the software available for the CI. |

Click CHANGE HISTORY to view the CI history on the CONFIGURATION ITEM HISTORY page.

The following table describes the fields on the CONFIGURATION ITEM HISTORY page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Column Name | Displays the name of the field where changes are made. |
Change Date | Displays the date when the changes are made. |
Changed By | Displays the name of the user who made the changes. |
Old Value | Displays the value of the field before the change was made. |
New Value | Displays the value of the field after the change was made. |
Click KB to display the KRs related to the CI and the KRs related to the Child CIs and Peer CIs.

Click BACKUP CONFIGURATION to view or compare the backup data stored for a CI on a particular date.

- To view the backup data of a particular date, click View. A text file containing the backup data is downloaded to your computer.
- To compare the backup data for two different dates, select the date and click COMPARE. The COMPARE BACKUP pop-up page is displayed.

Note:
This option is available only for Network type CIs.
Click CI EVENTS to view the list of Events. The page initially displays only the last Event. You can expand the Event to view all the Events.

The following table describes the fields on the CI EVENTS pop-up page:

Events in this page are grouped by Event Type and Device. Click this icon to view all the Events under a group. | |
Event Type | Displays the type of Event. |
Reference ID | Displays the Reference ID. |
Event ID | Displays the Event ID. Click the Event ID link to view the Event details. You can view and link Knowledge Records (KRs) to the Event. To view the list of published KRs click VIEW KBS.

Device Type | Displays the type of device. |
Device Name | Displays the name of the device. |
IP Address | Displays the IP Address of the device. |
Event Category | Displays the category of the Event. |
Message | Displays the comments of the Event. |
Incident ID | Displays the Incident Id for the Event. Click the Incident ID link to view the Incident Details. |
Acknowledged | Displays if the Event is acknowledged. |
Event Date | Displays the date of creation of the Event. |
Event Status | Displays the status of the Event. |
Note:
On clicking SUBMIT, the VARIANCE DETAILS pop-up page is displayed.

- Select the Hardware/Software Variance and click SAVE VARIANCE to baseline the Variance and save other modifications in the CI.
- Click DO NOT SAVE VARIANCE to save the modifications in the CI without base lining Software/Hardware Variance for the CI.
