You can export the Assets from the SummitAI Asset Management module to SummitAI CMDB (Configuration Management Database) module by selecting one Asset at a time. All the mapped fields associated with the Asset are exported to the CI (Configuration Item). Based on the field mapping configuration for the selected template, the Asset details are automatically synchronized to the CI. The templates are configured on the CMDB MAPPING page (see: Configuring CMDB Mapping).

Note:

The Assets that are not mapped to any CI can be exported to the CMDB as a new CI.

Prerequisites

A template should be configured for the required Asset Category for exporting the Asset details to CMDB. For more information, see Configuring CMDB Mapping.

To Add New CIs by Exporting Asset Details:

  1. Select Asset > User > Manage Asset > Asset Inventory.

  2. On the ASSET INVENTORY page, under the SELECT THE ASSET TYPE section, select FIXED.

  3. On the FIXED ASSET page, the FILTERS pop-up page is displayed. Select the value for Status as CMDB Export and select the other required filter criteria. Click SUBMIT. For more information about fields on the FILTERS pop-up page, see Searching Assets.

  4. The list of Assets based filter criteria is displayed. Click the Asset ID to view the Asset details. For more information, see Viewing Asset Details.

  5. Select the check boxes corresponding to the Assets you want to export to CMDB. On the ACTIONS panel, click EXPORT TO CMDB.
