Dynamic Bidirectional Auto Sync of Asset Inventory and CMDB
The IT environment of an organization is extremely dynamic in nature due to the increasing use of virtualization technologies and software-defined infrastructure. In order to support this dynamic environment, SummitAI gives the IT Administrator the flexibility to choose which CIs are to be dynamically updated and which CIs will require manual intervention for approval. Depending on the purpose of the individual Asset Category and CI Classification, the IT Administrator has the option either to update the CMBD directly from the Discovery or Asset repository.
The dynamic bidirectional auto synchronization of Asset Inventory and CMDB allows data synchronization between the two repositories, i.e., Asset Inventory and CMDB. This process primarily focuses on consistency of information in both the repositories. The IT Administrators do not need to worry about stale information in either repository.
The SummitAI Application synchronizes data between Assets Management and Configuration Items only if their attributes are logically mapped. The template-based synchronization saves time and synchronizes multiple Assets and CI attributes at a time.
If configured, the auto-synchronization process starts immediately after the Discovery process completes. The discovered data is queued for synchronization with the CMDB. The Administrators should enable the Custom Scheduler job to auto synchronize the data. The synchronization can be also launched manually for devices within the browsing interface.
