Configuring Event Action Templates 1

You can configure the Event Action Template for a Tenant. You can configure to send e- mails automatically to specific recipients based on the specified number of Critical Events, number of Warning Events, number of Alert Events, and number of Information Events. You can also create Problem Records (PRs) automatically based on the specified number of Critical Events, number of Warning Events, number of Alert Events, and number of Information Events. You can configure to send notification and escalation for Incidents to configured users.

To configure Event Action Templates:

  1. Select Operations > Configuration > Events > Event Action Template.
  2. On the EVENT ACTION TEMPLATE page, click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel.
  3. Click the Filters icon and select the Tenant. Fill in the other required details. For more information about the fields on the EVENT ACTION TEMPLATE page, see Field Description.
  4. Click SUBMIT. The Event Action Template is configured.

The following table describes the fields on the EVENT ACTION TEMPLATE page:

Template Name

Type in the name for the Event Action Template.

EVENT CONFIGURATION

E-mail Notification

Select this check box for sending an e-mail notification to the configured members. E-mails are sent to the configured users, when the Critical Events, Warning Events, Alert Events, Information Events exceed the configured number.

E-Mail Recipients

Specify the e-mail id of the recipients to whom e-mail notification will be sent.

Number of Critical Events

Specify the number of Critical Events after which an e-mail notification should be sent.

Number of Warning Events

Specify the number of Warning Events after which an e-mail notification should be sent.

Number of Alert Events

Specify the number of Alert Events after which an e-mail notification should be sent.

Number of Information Events

Specify the number of Information Events after which an e-mail notification should be sent.

From Email ID

Specify the e-mail id from which the notification e-mails should be sent.

From Email Name

Specify the e-mail name from which the notification e-mails should be sent.

PROBLEM RECORD CONFIGURATION

Problem Record

Select this check box to log Problem Records automatically when the Critical Events, Warning Events, Alert Events, and Information Events exceeds the configured number.

Number of Critical Event Record

Specify the number of Critical Events after which a Critical Event Record should be created.

Number of Warning Event Record

Specify the number of Warning Events after which a Warning Event Record should be created.

Number of Alert Event Record

Specify the number of Alert Events after which a Alert Event Record should be created.

Number of Information Event Record

Specify the number of Information Events after which a Information Event Record should be created.

Ignore Event Record (If Problem is open)

Select this check box to avoid re-logging of a Problem Record for the same Event if the Problem Record is not resolved or closed.

Active

Indicates the status for the Event Action Template.

  • If selected, the Event Action Template is active and is displayed in the Event Action Template list.
  • If not selected, the Event Action Template becomes inactive.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the EVENT ACTION TEMPLATE  page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the configured Event Action Templates for the selected Tenant.

  • To modify an Event Action Template, click the configured Template Name. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • To display the inactive Event Action Templates, click the Include Inactive check box.

Note

When the Event Action Templates are displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure a new Event Action Template.
