Import

The import function in project management software enables you to add external data or project information to the program for additional analysis, planning, or integration. Depending on the project management tool you're using, there may be differences in the specific import feature and settings.


The project management software's import capability makes it easier to incorporate external data into your project management system, minimizing the need for manual data entry and increasing data accuracy. It enables you to interact with data from many sources inside your project management software environment and enhances collaboration and data integration.

Import MPP Project

Microsoft Project is intended to help teams and project managers plan, schedule, monitor, and manage projects of varied sizes and complexity. For project planning, resource management, task scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and collaboration, Microsoft Project offers a variety of features and capabilities.


Configure Import MPP Project

  1. Navigate to Project > User > Import > Import MPP Project.
  2. The following window is displayed.

Field

Description

Customer

Choose the Customer from the drop-down menu.

Department

Choose the Department already configured.

Project name

Enter the Project Name.

Project Code

Specify the Project code.

Upload MPP File

Upload the MPP File.

Import Excel Project

Using Microsoft Excel, project management or planning activities are organised and monitored. In this situation, Microsoft Excel is used as a tool for project planning, task tracking, resource management, and project progress monitoring. To improve project efficiency and effectiveness, project management solutions include cutting-edge capabilities including Gantt charts, resource management, and collaboration tools.


Configure Import Excel Project

  1. Navigate to Project > User > Import > Import Excel Project.
  2. The following window is displayed.

         3. Here we can select the Customer, Department, and the Excel file to import.

Import Time Sheets

Time sheets are records used to track and record how much time a person or group spends on various jobs or activities. They are frequently used in company time tracking, payroll processing, and project management. Different formats, including paper forms, electronic spreadsheets (like Excel), and specialised time tracking software, can be used to record time sheets. They are an essential tool for monitoring worker productivity, project costs, and time management in general in businesses.

Configure Import Time Sheet

  1. Navigate to Project > User > Import > Import Time Sheet.
  2. The following window is displayed.

  3. Choose the Source file and click UPLOAD. In the subsequent window, choose the file and click NEXT.

  4. The Mapping tab gets displayed. Map the appropriate fields and click NEXT.
  5. The PREVIEW page is displayed.
  6. Enable the checkbox for items to be discarded and click SUBMIT.
