What is Release Management?
The Release Management module tracks all the tasks related to release cycles. A Release Cycle is a software development process that comprises different stages of software release, such as development, testing, deployment, and support.
Release Management starts with the development phase where requests for any kind of changes or new features are created. After the request is approved, the Release Cycle moves into the planning phase, where the new design is tested and checked for quality. The reviewed design then undergoes changes for the final approval. After the design is accepted and built, the deployment phase starts, where the design is implemented and made accessible to the End User. The deployed design starts with a support phase, where errors and bug reports are gathered and resolved. This leads to new change requests and the software development process repeats.
Using the Release Management module, Analysts or Release Managers, or users with required access, can capture and update details about the complete Release Cycle, information, such as Release Record details, initiator details, release types, release plan details, related Change Record details, Risk details, release package details, deployment details, roll-out plan details, and so on.
