Asset Physical Verification Using RFID

Physical Verification Process (PVP) using RFID helps to validate the Location, Status, Maintenance Schedule, and other important information about the physical Assets that are available on the Floor.

Process Flow

Following is the Physical Verification Process (PVP) using RFID:

  1. To initiate PVP, schedule the Physical Verification Process, see Asset Physical Verification.
  2. After PVP is initiated, a notification is sent to the respective SPOC based on the Location or Division.
  3. The SPOC carries the RFID reader and scans the Assets on the Location or Division (see: Radio Frequency Identification).
  4. The Asset details that are collected using RFID Reader is interpreted in the RFID System.
  5. The RFID System stores the Asset RFID tag information and builds the records for further validation with the SummitAI information.
  6. The collected data is uploaded from the RFID System to SummitAI System using API for comparison.
  7. To identify any discrepancies between the Asset details captured in the RFID System and Asset information available in the SummitAI System, the data should be synced in the SummitAI System.

Prerequisites

All the Assets need to be paired with RFID Tags to perform the above-mentioned process.

Outcome of Using PVP With RFID

Data Matching with SummitAI Application

If data is matching and there are no discrepancies, there are no changes required and the process ends.

Data Not Matching with SummitAI Application

If data is not matching and there are discrepancies, following are the possible reasons:

  • Difference in Asset Location: It is when the Asset recorded at a Location or Floor in the RFID System is not matching with the same  Location details available in the SummitAI application.
  • Asset not matched or found in SummitAI Application: It is when the Asset is found in the SummitAI application but not detected in the RFID System.
  • Difference in Department: It is when the Asset recorded at “Department Y” in the RFID System is not matching with the same “Department Y” in the SummitAI application.

Based on these possible reasons, you can validate and make the required changes in the SummitAI application to match the Assets.
