Viewing Asset Details

You can view the details of the Fixed Assets and Non-Fixed Assets, such as Tenant, Category, Asset Code, Software Discovery information, unmapped software details, Hardware Discovery details, device manager, license keys, Incident history, audit trail, allocation history, movement history, repair history, Endpoint Compliance, password view audit details, Accessories allocated to the Assets, and so on.
To view the Fixed Asset details:
Select Asset > User > Manage Asset > Asset Inventory.
On the ASSET INVENTORY page, under the SELECT THE ASSET TYPE section, select FIXED icon.
On the FIXED ASSET page, the FILTERS pop-up page is displayed. Select the required filter criteria and click SUBMIT. For more information about fields on the FILTERS pop-up page, see Searching Assets.
The list of Fixed Assets based on the selected filter criteria is displayed.

Note
Initial Entry Source column on the list page shows the source by which the respective asset was initially added in the Asset Inventory.
The following sources are shown in this column:
- Discovery: This entry type is displayed when the respective Asset is added through discovery process.
- Excel Import: This entry type is displayed when the respective Asset is imported through a excel.
- Maker-Checker: This entry type is displayed when the respective Asset is added through Maker-Checker process
- Manual: This entry type displayed when the respective Asset is added manually.
Discovery Status column on the list page shows the discovery status of the respective asset.
The following statuses are shown in this column:
- Discovered: This status is shown when the respective asset is discovered.
- Not Discovered: This status is shown when the respective asset is not discovered.
Click the Asset ID to view the details of the Asset. The Asset details are displayed on the ASSET DETAILS pop-up page under different tabs.

Field Description
The following section describes the tabs and buttons on the ASSET DETAILS pop-up page:
Asset Information tab
Under the Asset Register tab, you can view the basic information of the Asset, such as, Tenant/Department, Category, Asset Code, allocation status of the Asset, Asset condition, date when the Asset was added, the name of the user who added the Asset, Serial Number of the Asset, Model Number of the Asset, Vendor Name, Manufacturer name, Warranty details, CPU details, and so on.

Attachment Field
All the attachment files uploaded for the particular asset record is displayed here as follows:
- File Name- Displays the name of the attached file.
- Attachment Date- Displays the date of the file attached with time stamp.
The maximum size of the uploaded file is 4MB.
Administrator can customize the size of file upload in web.config.
The number of attachment fields and the attachment limit (Single or Multiple) can be configured based on the requirement through Form Builder option.

Under the Software Discovery tab, you can view the list of software installed on the Asset. You can select to view the summary or the details of the software installed on the Asset by selecting the appropriate option in the Type list. You can search for a particular software using the Search field. You can uninstall a software that is installed in the selected Asset. The details of the manually allocated software is highlighted in yellow color. You can also select to view if the software installed on the Asset is licensed or not using the appropriate option in the Is Licensed Software? drop-down list. The Is Licensed Software? details are pulled from the software normalization integration.

Uninstall Software
To uninstall a software, scroll the scroll bar to the right, select the applicable check box in the Uninstall column, and then click the Uninstall Software icon . For more information on how to uninstall a software from an Asset, follow below steps.
The ASSET DETAILS pop-up page is displayed.

The following table describes the ASSET DETAILS pop-up page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Target Machine Name | Displays the System Name where the Software is installed. |
Update Software By | Select the mode in which you want to uninstall the Software. You can select either Agent or Remote from the drop-down list. |
Installation Account | The field is displayed If you select Remote in the Update Software By field. Select the Administrator account to uninstall the Software. |
Execute Task | The field is displayed If you select Remote in the Update Software By field. Select the time when you want to uninstall the Software. |
Uninstall By | The field is displayed If you select Remote in the Update Software By field. Select the server from the drop-down list through which you want to uninstall the Software. |
Start Date | The field is displayed If you select Later in the Execute Task field. Select the date and time when you want to uninstall the Software. |
SOFTWARE LIST TO BE UNINSTALLED | Displays the details of the Software that you want to uninstall. |
Print Table
Click the Print Table icon to print the SOFTWARE DISCOVERY page.
Export to Excel
Click the Export to Excel icon to export the records displayed on the SOFTWARE DISCOVERY page to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
Under the Unmapped Software Details tab, you can view the details of the unmapped software installed on the Asset.

Print Table
Click the Print Table icon to print the Unmapped Software Details page.
Export to Excel
Click the Export to Excel icon to export the Unmapped Software Details page records to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
Under the Hardware Discovery tab, you can view the details about the hardware discovered on the Asset.

To view the properties of additional IP, user needs to click on the icon. Upon clicking, the properties of all the IP addresses are displayed in the tabulated form on the Additional IP pop-up.
Note
The icon works only when endpoint profile mapping is performed to IP address.

The IP address details that are displayed on the ADDITIONAL IP ADDRESS DETAILS pop-up are described in the below table:
Field | Description |
IP Address | Displays the IP Address that are mapped to an Asset. |
Name | Displays the name of IP Address |
Subnet Mask | Displays the Subnet Mask of an IP address. A subnet mask is a number that defines a range of IP addresses available within a network |
DHCP Servers | Displays the DHCP Servers of an IP address. A DHCP Server is a network server that automatically provides and assigns IP addresses to devices. |
Default Gateway | Displays the Default Gateway of an IP address. A gateway refers to a network which within which device sends local network traffic to other networks. |
Under the License Keys tab, you can view details about the license keys associated with the Asset.

Device Manager tab
Under the Device Manager tab, you can view the Device Manager details of the Asset.

Additional Discovery
Under the Oracle tab, you can view the data that are discovered from the Oracle database.

Note:
The Oracle tab is displayed only if the discovered data from the Oracle database is available for this specific Asset.
Under the IBM tab, you can view the data that are discovered from the IBM database.

Under the WMI Report tab, you can view a detailed discovery information of the Asset.

Under the Software Files tab, you can view a list of Software Files available in the Asset Inventory. You can also view the Original Name, Version, Product Name, File Size and the Publisher Name of the Software Files. You can select a range of Software File size in the File Size drop-down list to view the related Software Files.

Click PRINT to print the displayed records.
EXPORT TO EXCEL
Click EXPORT TO EXCEL to export the records displayed under Software Files tab to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
EXPORT ALL
Click EXPORT ALL to export all the records to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
Asset History tab
Under the Allocation History tab, you can view the Asset allocation history. It displays the allocation type for the Asset as Single User or Multiple User, the employee Id, name, and e-mail Id of the user to whom the Asset is allocated, name of the user who allocated the Asset, allocated and return date, and so on. It also displays all the custom field values that are created using FORM BUILDER for the specific Asset Category.

Under the Movement History tab, you can view the Asset movement history. It displays the name of the user who initiated the movement, movement initiated date, movement type, status of the movement, and the source and destination address.
Under the Repair History tab, you can view the repair details of the Asset. It displays the repair reference number (if any), date when the Asset was sent for repair, status of the warranty, description of the fault, return date of the Asset from repair, cost incurred, solution provided, repair status, and the Attachments while Sending the Asset to repair and Returning the Asset from Repair.

Under the Audit Trail tab, you can view the audit history of the Asset. It displays the list of attributes of the Asset and their old and new values if the attribute value is modified. It displays the date of modification, and also the details about the user who modified the attribute values.

Note
Audit Trail tab captures the User's action performed on the allocated Asset via E-mail.
Under the Non-Fixed Assets tab, you can view the active allocation and the history of previous allocation of Accessories/Consumable/Software allocated to an Asset/User's Asset. It displays the details of Non-Fixed Assets, such as Asset ID, Asset Code, Asset Type, Category Name of the accessories, Store Location, Store, Asset allocated to, Asset allocated by, allocation date, and so on. It displays the allocated quantity of the Non-Fixed Assets along with the ID.

Print Table
Click the Print Table icon to print the Non-Fixed Assets page.
Under the Reconciliation History tab, you can view the name of the Reconciliation, Reconciliation status (Accepted, Pending, or Rejected), date on which Reconciliation occurred, user details of the reconciled Asset, Location of the reconciled Asset, and so on.

Print Table
Click the Print Table icon to print the Reconciliation History page.
EXPORT TO EXCEL
Click EXPORT TO EXCEL icon to export the records displayed under Reconciliation History tab to a Microsoft Excel sheet.
Endpoint Compliance
Under the Endpoint Compliance tab, you can view the compliance and non-compliance report of the Endpoint profiles.

Password Audit Details tab
The Password View Audit Details tab displays the password view audit details of the Asset.

Patch Details tab
Under the Patch Details tab, you can view the missing, installed patches, patch CAB details and their approval status. You can also approve the Patches that are not approved, by selecting the check box against the Patch and clicking APPROVE.

Relationship tab
Under the Relationship tab, you can view the list of Incidents, Service Requests, Work Orders, Contracts, Change Records and Configuration Items that are linked to the Asset.

Note:
If the SUMMIT application is used in collaboration with ServiceNow, the Incidents and Service Requests linked with assets in ServiceNow, are also displayed under the Relationship tab.
REMOTE DESKTOP
Click the REMOTE DESKTOP icon to establish remote desktop connection with the End User. For more information on how to establish the connection, see Remote Desktop Sharing 1.
