Nmap Discovery Report
Network Mapper Tool (Nmap) based Discovery uses credential-less Discovery feature to identify the active device types (Windows, Linux, Network) on the system, discovers the available host and services, and find the open ports in an IT landscape. Since it identifies and gathers device details, an Nmap Discovery report can be created to categorize and validate those devices accordingly.
In Summit Discovery module, Nmap Discovery report page can be created so that Analyst or Admin can easily check the devices details captured through Nmap based Discovery.
Why is it pivotal for use?
- Identifies active hosts and IP addresses in the network.
- Generates the Discovery report of active assets in an IT landscape.
How is Summit implementing it?
In the Nmap Discovery Report feature, Analyst can add the following functionality:
- Filter the Nmap report based on IP address, Device type, OS Family, Host Name, OS caption, Vendor, and date of Discovery.
- Export the Nmap Discovery records to Excel sheet.
What are the benefits of Nmap Discovery Report feature in Discovery Module?
- Enables customer to get better visibility of devices discovered through the Nmap.
