The Software Inventory Report provides the list of Assets where a Software or a list of Software is installed. It also provides the Asset details, such as Asset ID, Asset Serial No., Host name, Allocation Status, Asset Location, Asset Store, Customer, and so on. For information about reports, see Viewing Reports.

 Additional Information

Analysts or Admins can check the various software available in their inventory using this report. This report provides detailed information of software assets based on Vendor name. For Example: Vendor name is Adobe and available software of same vendor like Adobe AIR, Adobe Flash Players are available. Allocated users of this software, their employee ID and current location can be easily known by this report.

Steps to access Software Inventory Report

  1. Navigate to Reports > Asset Management >Software Inventory Report.
  2. Click Filters on the Action panel to specify the filter criteria for generating the report. The criteria FILTERS pop-up appears.

      3. Enter or select the values for Filter fields as described in the following table.  

Fields

Description

Tenant

Tenant is similar to department in an organization, example : Operations, IT. Select the Tenant name from the list. This is a mandatory field. For more information, see Configuring Tenants

Customer

Select the Customer from the list.

Location

Select the location from the LOCATION tree. For more information, see Configuring Location And Store.

Include store Asset

Currently Available Assets. Select the check box to include In-Store Assets.

Vendor Name

  • To view the Software from all the configured vendors, enter %, and click SEARCH.
  • To view the Software from a specific vendor, enter %<vendor's name>%, and click SEARCH.

Software Name

  • To view all the Software, enter %, and then click SEARCH.
  • To view a specific Software, enter %<vendor's name>%, and then click SEARCH.

Software

Available Software

Lists all the available Software based on the search in the Vendor Name and Software Name fields. Click the icon to include a Software in the Restrict Software To field.

Restrict Software To

Lists all the selected Software from Available Software field. Click the  icon to remove a Software.

4. Click SUBMIT

  The Software Inventory Report is displayed.

5.To view more details about an Asset, click the related Asset ID from the Asset ID column. You can view the details of the Asset on the ASSET DETAILS page.

Few of the fields that are present in the report are explained in the following table. 

FieldDescription
Asset IDUnique ID for that Asset.
Asset CodeUnique Alphanumeric code for that Asset.
Category NameThe type of Asset. Example: Laptop, Desktop, CD
Asset LocationThe current location of Asset.
Allocation StatusDisplays if Asset is Assigned or Unassigned. Example: Allocated / Unallocated
Allocated User NameDisplays the user name with whom Asset is currently present.
Asset Details reportThis detailed report displays many details related to Asset. Example : Repair and Movement history of Asset, Unmapped Software details, Audit trails, Incident history and so on.

Click the Refresh Report to fetch latest details for the report. Any changes performed after the Reports page was loaded, will reflect if you click on Refresh Report 

ACTIONS

You can perform the following actions from the ACTIONS panel of the Software Inventory Report page. 

Icon

Prints the displayed report records. 

 

Exports the displayed records on the page to a Microsoft Excel sheet. 

 

Exports the complete list of report records to a Microsoft Excel sheet
