Adding Interfaces for Monitoring

On the MONITOR INTERFACE page, you can select the discovered Interfaces and add them for monitoring. The added Interfaces are monitored and are displayed in Views (see: Creating Views from Discovered Devices List).
To add Interfaces for Monitoring :
- Select Operations > Configuration >Networks > Monitoring Interface.
- On the MONITOR INTERFACE page, click ADD NEW.
- Click Filters. On the FILTERS pop up, select the required details to search for the Interfaces to be added for monitoring.
- Click the Filters icon to specify a particular filter criteria to display the Interfaces. On clicking the Filters icon, the FILTERS pop-up page is displayed. Select the Tenant and other required details. Click SEARCH. To know more about the fields on the FILTERS pop-up page, see Filters.
- Click SUBMIT. Based on the filter criteria, the list of discovered Interfaces is displayed.
Select the check box corresponding to the Interface details that you want to add for monitoring. Click SUBMIT.

You should enable the Network Interface Status and Network Interface Utilization jobs on the CUSTOM SCHEDULER page to monitor the status and utilization of the network interfaces.
Field Description
The following table describes the fields on the MONITOR INTERFACE page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Check box | Select the check box corresponding to the Interface details to add the selected Interface for monitoring. |
Interface | Displays the name of the Interface. |
Interface Alias | Displays the alias of the Interface. |
Description | Displays the description of the Interface. |
IP Address | Displays the IP Address of the Interface. |
Ifindex | Displays the ifindex of the Interface. |
Capacity | Displays the capacity of the Interface. |
Status | Displays the status of the Interface. |
Remote Host | Displays the remote host of the Interface. |
Remote Interface | Displays the remote Interface. |
Interface Connectivity | Displays the Interface connectivity. |
Service Entitlement | Lists the configured Service Entitlements. Select the Service Entitlement from the list. |
Copy check box | Select the check box to replicate the first selected Service Entitlement value to the other selected rows of the Interfaces. |

Filters
Click the Filters icon to specify a particular filter criteria to display the Interfaces.

The following table describes the fields on the FILTERS pop-up page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Tenant | Select a Tenant from the list. |
Customer | Select the Customer from the list to display the Interfaces for the selected Customer. |
Location | Select the location from the list to display the Interfaces for the selected location. |
Host Name/IP Address | Select the Host Name/IP Address from the list to display the Interfaces for the selected location. |
SHOW LIST
Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the Interfaces added for monitoring.
