You can configure the external websites from which information can be picked up while searching for information in the Knowledge Base.

To configure external websites:

  1. Select  Knowledge > Configuration > Link External Website.
  2. On the LINK EXTERNAL WEBSITE page, click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel.
  3. Select the Tenant and type in the external website configuration details. For information about the fields on the LINK EXTERNAL WEBSITE page, see Field Description.
  4. Click SUBMIT. A new external website is configured.

Field Description

The following table describes the fields on the LINK EXTERNAL WEBSITE page:

Description

DETAILS

Name

Type in a name for the external website.

URL

Type in the URL for the external website.

Query String

Type in the query string that you want to add to the Knowledge Management database. To generate the query string for a Knowledge Record related keyword, open the external website and type the keyword in the search field of that website. After the search results are displayed, copy the URL text and paste in this field.

Active

Indicates the status of the external website.

  • If selected, the configured external website is used while displaying related Knowledge Records.
  • If not selected, the configured external website is not used while displaying Knowledge Records.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the LINK EXTERNAL WEBSITE page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the external websites configured for the selected Tenant.

  • To edit an external website details, click the Name of the external website. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • To display the inactive external websites, click the Include Inactive check box.

Note:

When the external website list is displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure external websites.
