In External Web Service Mapping Configuration page, a Default checkbox added while adding field mapping data. When a value is not present in the third-party system, then the default value will be picked.

In External Web Service Mapping Configuration Page, while adding the Source Column Name and Target Column Name, there is a new Default Checkbox added.

Once you check the Default Checkbox, the value entered in the Source/Target column will be considered as a default value. This means that when there is no matching value in the Third-Party system this default value will be considered for all future transactions.
