New Asset Code Phrase
Feature released in SummitAI Service Management (Sierra, Asset Management)
What's New?
A new Asset Code phrase, *SequenceIDIncrementalByCategoryMakeEntity*, is added on the ASSET CODE CONFIGURATION pop-up page. If this is selected, the Asset Code is created with the combination of Category, Make, and Entity. If any of the combination is new or different, the Asset Code sequence begins again. And, if the Asset Code is the same combination, it continues with the same sequence.
On the ASSET CATEGORIES page (Admin > Users > Infrastructure > Form Builder > Select a Tenant > Select a Module from LIST > Click ADD NEW option from ACTIONS panel > Click Asset Code icon next to Asset Code field), a new phrase, SequenceIDIncrementalByCategoryMakeEntity is added.

Prerequisites
To apply this Asset Code, select the “CategoryCode, Make, and Asset Entity along with your new phrase selection on the Keywords page.
To configure this Asset Code phrase, the following configurations are mandatory:
- On the Form Builder page (Admin > Basic > Infrastructure > Form Builder > Select a Tenant on the ASSET CATEGORIES page > Select a Module from the LIST > Click on ADD NEW option from the ACTIONS panel), Select an Asset code. Click the icon to configure the Asset Code on the ASSET CODE CONFIGURATION pop-up page. Select the check box for the attributes you want to configure as Asset code. Click PREVIEW. And then, click SAVE. (By default, the Asset Codes *CategoryCode*/*Asset ID* are displayed in the Asset Code).
- On the Key Field Mapping page (Asset > Configuration > Asset Masters > Key Field Mapping > Select a Tenant > Select the Category > Select the Inventory Fields on the table and click SUBMIT). The Key Field Mapping is required for Make and Entity.
The changes are reflected on the FIXED ASSET page (Asset > Users > Manage Assets > Asset Inventory > Select Asset type as FIXED > Select the Tenant > Select the Asset based on the Category) in the Asset Code column (see: Figure: FIXED ASSET page).
Figure: FIXED ASSET page
The Asset code is viewed based on Category, Make, Entity, and Sequence Number as shown in the above figure.
Example
- In the above figure, for Asset ID 176, the Asset Code is generated as “DESK/DEL/A/000001”. If you add Assets with the same combination of Category, Make, and Entity, the code is generated as “DESK/DEL/A/000002” in sequence, which is created for Asset ID 180.
- If any of the combination changes, suppose Entity is changed from A to B, the Asset code is “DESK/DEL/B/000001”, the sequence number starts from “000001” again, since it is a different entity.
