You can configure new CI Relation Types to define new relationships between the CIs. You can also define the inverse relationship name in the new CI Relation.
To create a new CI Relation Type:
- Click CMDB > Configuration > CI Relation Type.
- Click ADD NEW. The CI RELATION TYPE page is displayed.
Figure: CI RELATION TYPE page - Specify the Tenant, enter the required details, and then click SUBMIT to create a new CI Relation Type. The new CI Relationship Type is available in the Link drop-down list of the CI RELATIONSHIP tab. For more information about the fields, see Field Description.
Field Description
The following table describes the fields on the CI RELATION TYPE page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Relationship Name | Specify the name of the Relationship Type |
Inverse Relationship name | Specify the name of the Inverse Relationship |
Description | Specify the description of the CI Relationship. |
Active | Select the check box to activate the CI Relation Type. |
ACTIONS
This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the CI RELATION TYPE page.
SHOW LIST
Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the created CI Relation Types.

- To edit a CI Relationship Type, click the Relationship Name of the CI Relationship Type. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
- To display the inactive CI Relationship Type, click the Include Inactive check box.
Notes:
- When the list of CI Relationship Types is displayed under the LIST table, the ADD NEW action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click ADD NEW to configure a new CI Relationship Type.
- You cannot edit an Active Parent Relationship which has an Inverse Child Relationship.
