You can configure values for parameters, such as Priority and Impact for a selected device (Servers,networks, and so on) and configure e-mail notifications to be sent to the concerned personnel (Analyst/Administrator) to take appropriate actions on the reported Event. You can also map the Event Template and Problem Template for a selected device.  For more information about the fields on the EVENT CONFIGURATION AND MAPPING page see, Field Description.

To make Event configurations and mappings:

  1. Select Operations > Configuration > Events > Event Configuration and Mapping.
  2. On the EVENT CONFIGURATION AND MAPPING  page, click the Filters icon and select the Tenant and Device Type, and click Submit.
  3. Click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel.
  4. Specify the required details. For more information about the fields on the EVENT CONFIGURATION AND MAPPING page, see Field Description.
  5. Click SUBMIT.

Field Description

The following table describes the fields on the EVENT CONFIGURATION AND MAPPING page:

Field

Information

Servers

Based on the selected device type, this field name varies. Select the devices for which you want to configure and map the Templates.

Category

Select the Category from the list to configure and map the Templates.

Problem Template

Lists the configured Problem Templates under the selected Tenant. Select a Problem Template from the list.  

Event Action Template

Lists the configured Event Action Templates under the selected Tenant. Select an Event Action Template.

Impact

Lists the configured Impact values under the selected Tenant. Select an Impact value from the list.

Priority

Lists the configured Priorities under the selected Tenant. Select an Impact from the list.

Escalation Type

Select the check box to send the notifications e-mails for the selected period and Event Type.

Email Recipients

Specify the e-mail ids of the recipients for the e-mail notifications.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the EVENT CONFIGURATION AND MAPPING  page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the configured configuration and mapping for the selected Tenant.

  • To modify a Configuration, click the Device Type. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • Click Delete to delete a Configuration.
  • To display the inactive Configurations and Mappings, click the Include Inactive check box.
