What is NetFlow Analyzer?
NetFlow Analyzer provides a real-time details of network bandwidth performance that helps the Network Administrators to manage their network efficiently. Details, such as traffic type (FTP, HTTP, Video content, voice, etc.), source of the traffic generator, destination, amount of traffic, etc., are available to the Administrators. This information is useful in identifying attacks (DNS attack, DDOS, etc.) and unauthorized users/systems accessing and using specific applications. This also helps in configuring effective bandwidth throttling.
Advantages
- NetFlow is used by IT professionals to analyze network traffic flow and volume to determine where traffic is coming from, where it is going to, and how much traffic is being generated.
- NetFlow enabled routers export traffic statistics as NetFlow records, which are then collected by a NetFlow Collector. The Collector does that actual traffic analysis and presentation to the user.
