Event Correlator
What is SummitAI Event Correlator?
The SummitAI Event Correlator is used to identify the few Alerts or Events that should be analyzed for raising Incidents from a pool of large number of Alerts and Events that are triggered in a Monitoring tool. SummitAI Event Correlator connects with any Monitoring tool (For Example: SolarWinds, Nagios) and collects all the Alerts and Events. These collected Alerts and Events are sent for processing and for logging Incidents with the respective Workgroup and Priority.

SummitAI Event Correlation
Following is the SummitAI Event Correlation process to identify and manage all Alerts and Events and to log Incidents in SummitAI Application:
- The SummitAI Event Correlator connects with the various Monitoring tools via respective APIs and collects all the active Alerts and Events.
- Sends all the collected Alerts and Events to the Event Correlation Engine for further processing.
- Applies the pre-configured and custom rules to identify the qualified Alerts and Events for logging Incidents.
- Logs Incidents with auto-filled details, such as Workgroup, Impact, Urgency, Priority, SLA, Classification, and Category for each qualified Alert and Event.
- After the Incident is logged, sends an acknowledgement for each Alert and Event to the Monitoring tool from the SummitAI Application.
- Updates the SummitAI Incident ID in the Monitoring tool to relate both the Monitoring tool Alert and the SummitAI Incident.
- Resolves the respective Incident automatically in the SummitAI Application whenever an Alert or Event is cleared/closed/completed from the Monitoring tool.
- Re-opens an Incident in SummitAI during the following conditions:
- If the issue occurs again.
- When there a similar Alert or Event within a specified time interval.
- If the Incident is in Resolved state without any time consideration.
