MIB OID Configuration and New Network Device Monitor Types for Discovery

What's New?

The following enhancements are made for Discovery of Network Device Monitor Type Parameters:

  1. The Administrators can configure MIB OID for the following existing Monitor Types for Discovery:
    • Serial Number

    • Model No

    • Description

    • Hostname

    • Memory Total

    • NoOfProcessor
    • IOSVersion
  2. The following new Network Device Monitor Types are added for Discovery using MIB OID:
    • IOSImage

    • SysObjectID

    • SystemUptime

    • Interface

    • InterfaceIP

    • InterfaceType

Configuration

  1. On the VENDOR MIB page, specify the MIB OID of the selected Parameter for Discovery (Admin > Advanced > Discovery & Monitoring > Vendor MIBs > Select the Vendor, MIB Used as Discovery, Device Type as Network Device, Monitor TypeMIB Type as Static, and User MIB OID of the selected Parameter > Click SUBMIT).     Note:

    • You can find the IOS version number in the SysDescr field as shown in the following example:

      Cisco IOS Software [Fuji], Catalyst L3 Switch Software (CAT9K_IOSXE), Version 16.9.3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)...

    • Add the version number on the COMMON MASTERS page. For more information, see Configuring Common Masters.


  2. On the DISCOVERY page, configure the job to discover the Monitor Types based on the configured MIBs (Admin > Advanced > Discovery & Monitoring > Discovery > Click ADD NEW > Select the Tenant and fill in the required details > Click SUBMIT to configure the Discovery details).
