Linux Discovery Agent Version 1.5
Overview
SummitAI has extended its discovery agent utility program support to Bash shell on the new Linux Discovery Agent version 1.5.
About Bash Shell
Bash is an acronym for ‘Bourne-Again SHell’ that is the default shell on many Linux distributions today. Brian Fox introduced the Bash shell in 1989. Bash shell offers practical improvements over K-shell and C-shell for programming and interactive use. Bash shell complies with the standards specified as part of IEEE POSIX.
Benefits
Following are the key benefits of Bash shell:
- Enables command-line editing
- Better Job Control
- Unlimited size command history
- Shell Functions and Aliases
- Unlimited size Indexed arrays
- Integer arithmetic in any base from two to sixty-four
- Scripts are easily readable in BASH in comparison to Korn Shell
We have fixed few customer reported issues in this release. For information about the bug fixes in this release, see Customer Fixed Issues and Known Issues.
Improvements
Security Considerations
Note:
Additional security controls are incorporated to Forgot Password functionality in Software as a Service (SaaS) model.
Session Timeout Enhancements
Since the application logout was dependent on the session timeout, a duplicate pop-up was displayed for End-users. If the user login before session timeout, for the Analysts, the license was occupied till the session timeout.
Now, based on the provided configuration, the system will log out the users as soon as they close the browser (in less than 5 mins).

Limitation
All old configuration of the Auto Problem Record creation will be deleted when you upgrade from pre-Denali SP1 to Denali SP1 or a later release. Hence, the Administrator needs to do configurations based on CONDITION and TARGET fields again.
For more information, see Configuring Auto Create Problem Records.
