Configuring Change Category

What is Change Category?

The Change Category is the Category used by the Analysts while closing a Change Record (CR). You can add these Change Categories based on the organizational needs. You can add and modify Change Categories for a Tenant.

To configure Change Category:

  1. Select Change > Configuration > Change Category.
  2. On the CHANGE CATEGORY page, select the Tenant. A list of all the configured Change Categories for the selected Tenant is displayed under the DETAILS section.

Note:

  • The Green color indicates that the Closure Category is the default Closure Category.
  • The Red color indicates that the Closure Category is an inactive Closure Category.
  • The Yellow color indicates that it is a new Closure Category.

          3. Right-click on any one of the configured Closure Categories, a pop-up list is displayed with the following options:

  • Create Root Node: Click this option to create a new Root Node/Closure Category. A new Node/Closure Category is created at the top of the configured Node list.
  • Create Child Node: Click this option to create a Child Node/Closure Category. A Child Node/Closure Category will be created for the Node/Closure Category on which you have right clicked.
  • Rename: Click this option to rename a Node/Closure Category.
  • Deactivate: Click this option to set the Closure Category as inactive.
  • Set as Default: Click this option to set a Node/Closure Category as Default Node/Closure Category.
  • Configure: Click this option to configure Change Category.

Replicate To All Child Categories

If Replicate To All Child Categories is selected, the below changes are applicable for all the Child Categories.

Change Type

Select a Change Type for the Change Category from the drop-down. Based on this configuration, the Change Type is auto populated when this Change Category is selected on the New Change Record page.

Is ChangeType Overridable?

If Is ChangeType Overridable? check box is selected, Analyst can change the default Change Type on the New Change Record page.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the CLOSURE CATEGORY page.

EXPAND ALL

Click EXPAND ALL to expand all the configured Closure Categories.

  • To display the inactive Closure Categories, click the Include Inactive check box.

Note:

When the expanded Closure Category list is displayed under the DETAILS section, the COLLAPSE ALL action is displayed on the ACTIONS panel. Click COLLAPSE ALL to collapse the Closure Category list.
