Configure Session Timeout

Read Complete Release Notes

Feature released in SummitAI Platform (Sierra SP1, SummitAI Platform)

What's New?

The Administrators can now configure the Session Timeout and Session Timeout Warning message duration for the SummitAI application as per the organization's specific requirements.

Two new fields, Session Timeout and Session Timeout Warning are added on the APPLICATION SETTINGS page (Admin > Basic > Infrastructure > Application Settings). After submitting the configurations, all the sessions are terminated. All the users need to re-login to the Application. For more information, see Configuring Application Settings.

If a user's session is idle for more than the specified Session Timeout (in mins) time duration, the user's session is terminated by the Application. A Session Timeout Warning message is displayed to the user warning the user about the session being idle and will be terminated by the Application if the user does not take any action. The Session Timeout Warning (in secs) specifies the time duration for which the Session Timeout Warning message is displayed to the user. If no action is taken by the user while the Session Timeout Warning message is displayed, the session is terminated by the Application.

Following are the minimum and maximum fields values that can be used for the configuration:

Field

Minimum

Maximum

Session Timeout (in mins)

5 mins

1440 mins (24 hours)

Session Timeout Warning (in secs)

90 secs (default)

210 secs, if the Session Timeout (in mins) = 5 mins.

The maximum Session Timeout Warning (in secs) field value is dependent on the Session Time (in mins) field value.

Example:

If the Session Timeout is 5 mins, the maximum Session Timeout Warning = 5 mins * 60 secs = 300 secs – 90 secs (default) = 210 secs

Note:

  • By default, the Session Timeout for the SummitAI application is set to 20 minutes and Session Timeout Warning is set to 90 sec. Same configurations apply to the SummitAI Mobile App.
  • For SaaS applications, the configurations made by the Administrator are not applicable and the system-defined default values are applicable.
