What are Barcodes?
Barcode labels can be printed for each Asset that is added in the Asset Inventory including deactivated Assets. Each barcode is unique so this is useful in the identification of the Assets. During Asset Movement, the Floor or Store Manager can easily validate and scan the Asset barcode using a barcode scanner. The SummitAI application supports ISBN and QR barcode types. Barcode labels can be configured separately based on the Stores and the Asset Categories. For more information on configuring barcode label names, see Configuring Notifications and Templates.
Benefits of Barcode printing:
- Barcode labels are used for tagging Assets so that each Asset can be uniquely identified.
- Barcode labels are also used for Asset Physical Verification . During periodic verification of Assets, the Asset Manager scans the Barcode for verification.
To print Asset barcode:
Select Asset > User > Manage Asset > Asset Inventory.
- On the ASSET INVENTORY page, under the SELECT THE ASSET TYPE section, click FIXED.
- On the FIXED ASSET page, the FILTERS pop-up page is displayed. Select the required details and click SUBMIT to view the list of Assets based on the filter criteria. For more information about fields on the FILTERS pop-up page, see Searching Assets.
