You can create a new Configuration Item (CI) by exporting the Fixed Asset details to the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) module. You can extract the Asset details data from the Asset Management module and export it to the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) module.
To add new CIs by exporting Asset details:
Select Asset > User > Manage Asset > Asset Inventory.
On the ASSET INVENTORY page, under the SELECT THE ASSET TYPE section, select FIXED.
On the FIXED ASSET page, the FILTERS pop-up page is displayed. Select the value for Status as CMDB Export and select the other required filter criteria. Click SUBMIT. For more information about fields on the FILTERS pop-up page, see Searching Assets.
The list of Assets based filter criteria is displayed. Click the Asset ID to view the Asset details. For more information, see Viewing Asset Details.
Select the check boxes corresponding to the Assets you want to export to CMDB. On the ACTIONS panel, click EXPORT TO CMDB.
