Feature released in SummitAI IT Operations Management

What is Dynatrace?

Dynatrace is a monitoring tool that monitors the Servers, Network connections, or other devices.

Why to Integrate Dynatrace with SummitAI?

Dynatrace does not have the Event Correlator where the Events or Alerts can be converted into Incidents.

For Example:

Consider you have a Dynatrace monitoring tool to monitor Servers or Network Device and you want to log Incidents for all Alerts or Events during monitoring.

SummitAI Event Correlator is the solution for logging Incidents by integrating with Dynatrace. SummitAI provides an API to the Dynatrace to push all Alerts or Events to the SummitAI Database. These collected Alerts and Events are sent for processing and Incidents are logged with the respective Workgroup and Priority in the SummitAI ITSM application.

Dynatrace-SummitAI Integration

Before integrating the SummitAI with Dynatrace, review the following considerations:

  • SummitAI Application
  • Dynatrace Application

System Requirements

  • A dedicated Server for MOM API Services.
  • An API to connect with Dynatrace along with the API Key authentication.
  • For more information about SummitAI requirements, see Installation Guide.

Integrating with SummitAI

SummitAI Implementation team performs the following actions to integrate Dynatrace with SummitAI:

  1. Configure the MOM API Services for Dynatrace in a dedicated Server.
  2. After the MOM API configuration, Dynatrace pushes the Alerts or Events to the SummitAI API method.

Following is the SummitAI Event Correlation process to identify and manage all Alerts and Events from the Dynatrace Monitoring Tool to log Incidents in SummitAI ITSM application:

  1. Using SummitAI API, the Dynatrace Monitoring tool pushes all Alerts and Events to the SummitAI Event Correlator.
  2. The collected Alerts and Events are sent to the Event Correlation Engine for further processing.
  3. Based on the configured Event Processing Rules, similar Events or Alerts from the Dynatrace Monitoring Tool are suppressed and Incidents are logged with auto-filled details such as Workgroup, Impact, Urgency, Priority, SLA, Classification, and Category.
  4. Analyst resolves the Incident whenever the Event or Alert is closed, or issue is resolved.
