The Software Installation Details report provides the summary on the various software installed, the count of installations, and the software vendors. You can view the total count of Software installed on Assets by clicking the No. of Installations count hyperlink. In addition, users can view the normalized data of software.
Admin or Analyst can access the report based on access privileges assigned through roles.
The goal of this report is to help you understand that how many times a software is installed. It will help you to easily identify the software which are least installed to efficiently plan and streamline the software purchase. The number of installations of a specific software helps you to track the fake installations if the installation count exceeds the authorized licensed installation count.

Steps to access Software Installation Details Report
To view the Software Installation Details report, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Reports > Asset Management > Software Installation Details Report.
- Click Filters.
The Filters pop-up page is displayed.

Field Description
The following table describes the fields available under the ADVANCED section on the FILTERS pop-up page:

Description
BASIC Tenant Select the required tenant from the drop-down list. For more information, see Configuring Tenant. Type Select the type of the report display. Available options are as follows:
- Summary - Select this option if you want to view the summary of the report.
- Detail - Select this option if you want to view the detailed report.
Location Specify the location from the Location hierarchy tree. Is Licensed Software? Select this check box to include the in store assets. Vendor Name Specify the vendor name.
Note:
Use '%' to do the wildcard search of the Software and Vendor names.
Software Name Specify the software name.
Note:
Use '%' to do the wildcard search of the Software and Vendor names.
From Date Specify the start date from the calendar. To Date Specify the end date from the calendar. Include Software Version Select this check box to indicate that the software versions are included. Include In-Store Assets Select this check box to indicate that the instore assets are included. ADVANCED Category 1
Select the Category from the drop-down list for which you want to view the normalization data.
Note: Normalization process groups the software into different categories based on their utility.
Example: SQL can be categorized as a Software development tool.
Category 2
Select the sub-category from the drop-down list for which you want to view the normalization data.
Note: Normalization process, further groups the software into different sub-Category.
Example: SQL was categorized as a Software development tool which is further sub-categorized as a utility tool. This sub-category is displayed as Category 2 value.
End of Life
The End of Life shows that the product supplied to customers is in the ending phase of its useful life. This means the Publisher of the respective product will stop developing, enhancing, marketing, or selling to maintain the sustainability of the product.
Select the End of Life from the drop-down list.
- Date: It depicts that the End of Life for the Software is decided. If this option is selected, the From and To date fields are also displayed. Specify the date range of the End of Life. Based on the selection, the Normalization processes the information and displays a list of Software whose life is within that selected time range.
- Ongoing: The ongoing End of Life means the Software is still available in the market and the End of Life is not yet defined. If this option is selected, the Normalization processes the information and displays a list of Software that is in ongoing status.
End of Life Support level
Select the End of Life Support Level from the drop-down list. This list contains the type of support that is provided by the Publisher of the Software until the Software becomes obsolete.
Example: The End of Life of the Window 7 was on 13 Jan 2015 for which Microsoft has provided the support till 14 Jan 2020. It means that the computers running with Windows 7 will still function, but Microsoft will no longer provide any kind of technical support for this version after 14 Jan 2020.
Obsolete
Obsolete depicts that the Software is outdated (not having the latest in-build features) but still being used by some customers/users.
Select the Obsolete value from the drop-down list.
- Ongoing: It means that the Software is still available in the market and the obsolete date is not yet defined.
- Date: It depicts the decided obsolete date of the Software. If this option is selected, the From and To date fields are also displayed. Specify the Software obsolete date range. Based on the selection, the Normalization processes the information and displays the list of Software that is about to obsolete within the selected time range.
Obsolete support level
Select the Obsolete Support level from the drop-down list. This list contains the type of support that are provided by the Publisher of the Software after the Software becomes obsolete.
Example: Oracle will become obsolete on 12 May 2020. So, only Service Support will be provided by the Oracle Support team after 12 May 2020.
General Availability
It provides information about the last availability of the Software in the market. After that date, no further development is made in the Software, but only Technical Support is available.
Advance Filter Columns
Select the Advanced filter column from the drop-down list
Based on selection, the Normalized filters of the Advances section are displayed or hidden on the List page.

Note:
The ADVANCED section on the FILTERS pop-up page is available to the users to narrow down the search results based on the Asset normalization parameters. The Advanced filter section is displayed only when the AM_EnableBDNAFilter is set as TRUE in the SummitAI database.
Query Sample:- To use the Advance Normalization feature, the Normalization add-on package should be available and integrated with the SummitAI application. The Normalization process fetches the discovered data and performs Normalization. For information about Normalization feature, see SummitAI Installation guide.
- Upon changing the AM_EnableBDNAFilter value, users should log out the Application and login again.
- On enabling Normalization, Category 1, Category 2, End of Life, End of Life Support level, Obsolete, Obsolete Support Level, General Availability, and Advanced Filter Columns are available to the users as Advanced filters.
- Click Submit.
The Software Installation Details report is displayed. A sample screenshot is shown below:

Description
SL No. Displays the serial number. Software Name Displays the name of the software installed.
Vendor Name Displays the name of the vendor. No. of Installations Displays the count of software installations. Click on the count hyperlink to view the detailed information about the specific asset such as Asset Code, Category, Asset ID, Serial Number, Host Name, Store Location, Asset Store, Floor Location, Asset Floor and so on. A sample screenshot is shown below:

Click the Refresh Report to fetch latest details for the report. Any changes performed after the Reports page was loaded, will reflect if you click on Refresh Report .
ACTIONS
You can perform following actions from the ACTIONS panel of the Software Installation Details report page.
