You can configure Category-wise templates and populate the data in the templates so that the predefined data can be used while adding, updating, or importing Assets to the Asset Inventory. For more information about adding, updating, and importing Assets, see Adding Fixed Assets, Updating Asset Details, and Importing Assets, respectively.
To configure standard Data Templates:
- Select Asset > Configuration > Asset Masters > Data Template Configuration.
- On the DATA TEMPLATE page, on the ACTIONS panel, click ADD NEW. The DATA TEMPLATE page is displayed.
- Select the Tenant, Category, specify the Template Name, and then select Active if you want to make the configuration active. For more information about the fields on the DATA TEMPLATE page, see Field Description.
- Configure the required data in the template displayed in the <CATEGORY> DETAILS table, and then click SUBMIT.

Field Description
The following table describes the fields on the DATA TEMPLATE page:

DETAILS | |
Category | Select the Asset Category for which you want to configure a Data Template. |
Template Name | Specify the Template Name. |
Active | If selected, the Data Template configuration becomes Active. |
<CATEGORY> DETAILS table | Specify the data in the template that you want to configure. The specified data is displayed while adding, updating, or importing Assets, when the user selects the Category-specific Data Templates. |
ACTIONS
This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the DATA TEMPLATE page.
SHOW LIST
Click SHOW LIST to view the list of Data Templates configured for a specific Tenant and Category.

To update a Data Template, click the required Template Name. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
Note:
When the Data Templates are displayed under the LIST table, the following actions are displayed on the ACTIONS panel:
- Filters: Click Filters to specify a filter criteria to view a particular set of Data Templates.

- ADD NEW: Click ADD NEW to configure a new Data Template.
