Additional Changes in Impact Master

What is Impact?

Impact defines the effect of an Incident on the users (how many users). You can configure and modify the Impact values in Global and Local Tenant. You can create a configuration in Global Tenant which is inherited from all the Local Tenants. For more information, see Overview. 

You can perform the following functions in Impact Configuration. 

Configure Impact Values 

To configure Impact values, perform the following steps: 

  1. Select Incident > Configuration > SLA Configurations > Impact.

  2. On the IMPACT page, click ADD NEW on the ACTIONS panel.

  3. Select the Tenant and type in the new Impact details. For information about the fields on the IMPACT page, see Field Description.

  4. Click SUBMIT. A new Impact value is configured.

To configure Impact values in Global Tenant 

To add an Impact value in the Global Tenant, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Incident > Configuration > SLA Configuration > Impact.

    The Impact List page is displayed.

  2. Select the Tenant as GLOBAL TENANT > In the ACTIONS Panel, click ADD

    The Impact Details page is displayed.

Enter the Details and click SUBMIT. Some of the fields are explained in the following table.

Field Description

The following table describes the fields on the IMPACT page:


Field

Description

DETAILS

Impact Name

Type in a name for the Impact.

Sort Order

Type in a numeric value, which indicates the sequence number in which the Impact will be displayed in the Impact list on the configuration pages of the application.

Default

Select this check box to display this Impact value as the default Impact value on the other pages of the application.

Active

Indicates the status of the Impact value.

  • If selected, the Impact value becomes an available option on the other pages of the application.

If not selected, the Impact value becomes an inactive value. The inactive Impact values are not displayed in the Impact list on the other pages of the application.

ACTIONS

This section explains all the icons displayed on the ACTIONS panel of the page.

SHOW LIST

Click SHOW LIST to display the LIST table showing all the Impact values configured for the selected Tenant.



Impact ID column in the LIST table displays the ID associated with every configuration.

  • To edit an Impact value, click the Impact Name. Make appropriate changes and click SUBMIT.
  • To display the inactive Impact values, click the Include Inactive check box.

The De-link option is provided in the Actions panel when there is a Global value configuration in the details page of a Local tenant. You can Delink a Global value configuration in Local Tenant to make changes to any properties that were earlier restricted as they were a Global value configuration.

To Delink an Impact value, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Incident > Configuration > SLA Configurations > Impact
  2. Select the desired Local Tenant.

    The Impact List page is displayed.

  3. Click on the ID of the Impact value to be De-linked.

  4. In the ACTIONS Panel, Click the De-link. 

    The Details will become configurable.

    Note

    All the properties of the configuration will be configurable upon clicking the De-link option and you will get a prompt, “By delinking the values, Global value will be converted to Local, post clicking on the Submit button.”

  5. Click SUBMIT and then click OK to Save the details.

    After the details have been saved, click SHOW LIST to view the Delinked Configuration.

    • The Delinked Configuration will be replaced by a De-link Icon to signify that the configuration has been converted to Local value.

    • When you hover over the icon you can view the tooltip as ‘Global Configuration - Delinked.’

    • A Global value once Delinked cannot be Re-linked.

Note:

When the Impacts are displayed under the LIST table, the button ADD NEW and IMPORT are displayed on the ACTIONS panel.

  • Click ADD NEW to configure a new Impact.
  • Click IMPORT to update or create multiple Impacts, importing the Master Excel template. Upon clicking IMPORT, you will be redirected to the EXCEL MASTERS IMPORT page, where you can download the excel template and fill the required data to update in the IMPACT page.
